SCAM ALERT-Does not match Photos!!
So, we did not actually end up staying at the property. We booked on an emergency basis (for my father's funeral) for nine people and did not look at reviews first. Big mistake. When we noticed the previous bad reviews, we contacted VRBO and were told we could not cancel but could take pictures and call the support team if the property was unacceptable. Which it was. We documented the dirty pool (the owners insist it is *stained*, not dirty, but either way it looks unappealing to swim in and did not match the pictures). The backyard was littered with trash, a crumpled towel, someone's discarded clothing, beer bottle caps, cigarette butts, and was overall weedy and unkempt. Also in the backyard was what we think used to be a water feature but was drained and you could see the construction plastic, etc. and at the bottom was a puddle of muddy/green standing water with flies and mosquitos. Next to that was a pile of construction/repair materials - a pile of large metal slats and a ladder laying down on top of the pile. Inside there was a broken bed frame, plastic tables and chairs set up as "desks"(?) in several bedrooms, plastic still on the mattress foundations, dirty carpet on the stairs, mismatched and weird dish collection. It was obviously only cleaned by owners NOT PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED. After VRBO initially promised to rebook us and agreed it was unacceptable, we had a hellacious experience (during my Dad's funeral week). Eventually had to dispute the charge with Amex.
