„Schönes Hotel mit vielen liebevollen Details, Einrichtung zwar teilweise in die Jahre gekommen, aber gut gepflegt. Das Hotelkonzept ist gut durchdacht und bietet einiges an Komfort. Super Bar mit gutem Essen, warmes Frühstück wird frisch und kreativ zubereitet. Wir sind als Gruppe angereist und wollten die Zimmerbelegung von 3-Bett- auf 2-Bett-Zimmer ändern. Bezahlen mussten wir aber das über Expedia gebuchte, etwas teurere 3-Bett-Zimmer, da uns die Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption erklärte, das ...

We took a break from our family heritage tour and headed north of Galway to stay at The Lodge at Ashford Castle—and I’m so glad we did. „Sehr persönliche Begrüßung und Einweisung in die wirklich hoch innovative Technik der Zimmer. Die Tradition des Hauses wurde durch den neuen Südafrikanischen Eigentümer (seit 2013) durch eine Falknerei und 2 irische Wolfshunde zusätzlich erlebbar gemacht. Der neue Spa-Bereich wurde architektonisch perfekt in das historische Gebäude (ab 13. Jahrhundert) eingepaßt.“

„The staff was incredibly friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The food in the bistro was also very good. Unfortunately the walls are very thin, so we could hear everything that was going on in the rooms around us. Also, the bathroom smelled of mold and you cannot close the bathroom door from the outside because the door keeps opening. “

„Wir haben ein kostenloses Upgrad für eine Suite erhalten und das grosse, moderne Zimmer sehr gemocht. Das Zimmer war sehr stylisch und sauber. Frühstück gabs für einen Aufpreis von Eur 10.- / Person, wenn am Vorabend gebucht wird. Das Hotel liegt etwas ausserhalb, man ist aber in 20min mitten in der Innenstadt, Taxi kostet ca. Eur 8.- für einen Weg. Es gibt genug Aussenparkplätze, kostenlos. Unser Fazit, wir würden wieder kommen!“

„For exploring Galway, the hotel is a little out of the way. It is a typical conference hotel with little character and organized to deal with masses of people. Particularly during breakfast, this did not work so well. Otherwise, the rooms were nice and clean, the breakfast itself was fine and there was enough space for parking. “

„Beautiful, spacious property. Practical Details for Americans: they have a water kettle not a coffee pot, so purchase instant or bag coffee before you come, not beans or ground. They have a washer and dryer. You need to bring pods and be aware, it's a condenser dryer that takes about 2 hours to dry a verysmall load (5-6 items). Be sure to empty the dryer water tank. It's muddy on the property, so bring slippers or alternate shoes plus something to put your shoes in to protect your suitcase. ...
