The worst hostel experience in my life. Booked an entire room for 4 people via Expedia website in August at an attractive price. The next day reconfirmed this with the hostel administrator (have a proper correspondence). Called a few days before the arrival. All was good. At check-in, the rood Chinese receptionist barely speaking English told my friends that the price that we paid is actually for 1, and not for 4, when the booking was clearly indicating 4. And asked for the amount which is x5 more than in the booking. We had to spend 2 hours arguing with the host and admin, with absolutely no cooperation from their side. All they were interested in are just money. By our polite request to sort this problem directly with Expedia, we were told this is our problem and not theirs. When we personally gave a call to Expedia and they paid the balance and we have confirmed the reservation for 4 is completed (like it never been before, ha), and we were asked to come back after 3 pm. And they promised to send us the code/room details to my email. When returned at 7 pm, no one was at the reception, front door closed, no details on our rooms and the front door code emailed. When we finally got in and managed to get an admin back to her workplace, she intentionally checked us into the different rooms when there was space to allocate us together. And I remind, we initially had a private quadruple room! This receptionist was just completely incompetent. Absolutely terrible!
