Cottage on the Creek

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Our rustic cottage is located 5 mins from local ice cream, beer and farm fresh eggs. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs and a lofted area upstairs with an additional sleeping area. Enjoy the calming sounds of our creek while reading a book in our hammock or enjoy a campfire while stargazing. Our home has been recently redone but does have uneven flooring between rooms *Please be mindful of our neighbors and respect quiet hours from 10pm to 8am.* Freshly redone cottage with rustic charm. Our house is eclectic and special. Cozy, relaxing and tranquil. Entire house access with private yard and peaceful creek We give you privacy during your stay, we have self check-in - we do not interrupt your get away. However, if you need anything during your stay please contact us, we want to correct any issues that arise during your stay with us. We are available by phone, text or email Peaceful country living with a babbling creek. Short drive to downtown Salem where you can walk through the sculpture park at Salem Art Works or watch live theater at Fort Salem Theater. You'll also be a short drive from Granville - where you can find museums, a brewery and a zoo. Close to u-pick apples and berries. Midpoint between Lake George, Saratoga and Manchester, VT You'll need a car to get around during your stay with us.

Sehr rustikales Haus in schöner Lage
Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön gelegen. Wir haben die Lage direkt am Bach sehr genossen. Das Haus als solches ist sehr rustikal. Optisch hat uns dies gut gefallen. Leider war es aber auch nicht abschließend sauber (es lagen schon bei unserer Ankunft viele tote Fliegen auf dem Teppich). Wir haben uns sehr über die zur Verfügung gestellten Snacks gefreut (Kaffeepulver, Caprisonne, Riegel, Chips), leider sind diese jedoch seit September abgelaufen. Das war etwas schade. Grundsätzlich haben wir uns wohl gefühlt und gut geschlafen, wir hatten aber auch schon schönere Unterkünfte.

Cozy & rustic, but some minor notes..
Overall, place was as advertised, and pictures definitely did it justice. Unfortunately, we were snowed/iced in our whole stay, but that gave us plenty of time to form our opinion of the property. Pros: Super easy check-in process, beautiful scenery, loved the untreated wood interior. Sheets, towels, q-tips, dental picks, soap, paper towels, coffee creamer, plus a few snacks provided was a plus! Loft bed was very comfortable.Cons: A couple flukes sadly. Creamer was rancid, found a pan full of grease in the oven from previous renters, couch was very saggy. The cleaner was not exactly thorough (i.e. toothpaste-splattered mirror and grimy windows that spoiled the lovely snowy view outside). Great for adults, but uneven floors and steep stairs are a major hazard for young children and elderly. Two issues: First, the downstairs heater in the living room was broken during our stay, but the ones upstairs and in the backroom were blasting. (Upstairs was set to 86 when we got there!) The difference in temps between the drafty main floor (slippers are a must) and toasty loft was not quite comfortable. Secondly, as mentioned, we got completely snowed, then iced in during our weekend stay. There was no shovel provided, as owners apparently had issues with theft in the past, and although we were told neighbors take care of snow removal, they didn't do so until after we cleared off our car with the kitchen broom and tamped down the several inches of precip with our feet to strugg

This home was under 20 mins to the wedding venue we attended, very convenient. There was a glitch in my booking and VRBO did not list my booking. Right up to day of check in the house was listed as available on their website. That was a bit unnerving and made it challenging to communicate with the host. Another comfy chair or two would have been nice. All in all we were satisfied

Everything was great. It was very clean and neat. Definitely a place I would stay again. We had a couple of visitors on the morning we left in the back yard,two fawns. Kids couldn’t play in the creek because it was too low and not flowing but they still had a great time.

We did only a one night stay . It was mainly a place to sleep for the night. It was such a beautiful spot I wish we'd had more time. It was very hot and humid that night and there is no AC. I believe the owners are working on a lot of updates. Overall it's a nice place.

Quiet and quaint
The cottage was a one night stop over for me on a long trip home. It is a charming, quaint, and comfortable home with a lovely yard and patio area. A slight hiccup with the lock was immediately taken care of by the owner. The cottage was super clean, very comfortable bed in the loft (I didn't use the other 2 bedrooms), and well supplied in the kitchen and bathroom. Overall, a very quiet, pleasant, peaceful place if you're in the area.

Great communication and hosts
The cabin/cottage was situated on a creek in which the sounds of the water were relaxing. The property is a bit more rustic than we expected and although A/C is not explicitly stated in the ad it would be helpful if it was more clearly noted in the description. The owner was sure to send us a message the day of arrival to make sure we were aware so that we could plan accordingly. We happened to be on day 9 of our 10 day road trip and signal sucked, therefore, we didn’t know in enough time to plan to bring a fan. The owners were great with communication and check in was very easy! This place has so much potential, I can see why they chose it and it is in close enough proximity to some wonderful outdoor sights/activities.
