The Depot, as it is known locally, is a truly one of a kind property located just a mile outside of Salina's eastern city limits. It includes 44 acres of combined bottom cropland, meadows, and woods on a dry creek. Buried deep in the woods are the living quarters, consisting of a decommissioned 1906 Rock Island Caboose (rented separately) and Santa Fe rail depot, circa 1880. Both were restored to a modern level of quality with Hickory floors, custom Birch cabinetry, Pine ceiling and Alder woodwork. Sitting in the center of a county section at the end of a half mile long private drive, it's very easy to forget the city is only a mile away.
