It's not a luxury hotel! - but was functional, clean and a great option for a weekend at a festival in neighbouring town Margate. „We are a group of 8 ladies enjoying a weekend away and we had a wonderful weekend at Downs Cottage. The property was perfect… comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful decor, superb location, sauna was a bonus and the garden was very pretty. Deal itself was a very welcoming town, friendly people. We’d recommend Margarita’s for take away pizza and Mike’s Bikes for cycle hire. Walking distance into Deal from the cottage was about 30mins, which along the seafront was no time at all. The location is perfect for anyone visiting Margate as you are a short 15min walk away from the train station and right in the old town centre next to great coffee shops, restaurants and more. „A wonderful cottage and a very nice interior. Ric as a host was absolutely easygoing und caring. Any request he answered within shortest time, which made us feel welcome and looked after very well. The cottage is very spacious and it was a terrific idea to change one of the former bedrooms into a huge bathroom. Heating and fireplace was working perfectly. We had ten wonderful days in Whitstable, where we come to for new year for nearly twenty years now ...“
