Hurricane Ian Update: The Cocohut is now open for reservations! Loggerhead Cay is one of the first complexes to welcome guests back to the island. Our beaches are open, the shelling is fantastic and Sanibel welcomes you, but please note the island is a work in progress. There will be on-going construction recovery efforts at Loggerhead Cay into 2024, both within individual units and throughout the property. The pool is open, but our landscape and grounds are still returning. We recognize that our guests just want to get back to Sanibel, but please be aware that recovery efforts are not yet complete.

THE SPACE
Coastal boutique 2 Bedroom/2 Bathroom condo. Spacious living area with large flat screen Smart TV, oversized sectional and designer furniture. A fully equipped open kitchen with stainless steel appliances over looks the main living area. The dining area welcomes all guests with seating at the table or bar top, complete with an area to mix an afternoon cocktail. A tropical mural and statement chandelier make this space one of our favorites! A serene and tranquil master suite features a king size bed, ensuite private bathroom and closet space for your clothing and luggage. The guest bedroom and bathroom are their own private palm oasis. The enclosed lanai has sliders that open up to let in the sea air. Complete with a casual living area to enjoy the view and a bistro table perfect for your morning coffee.

THE PROPERTY
Loggerhead Cay is a well-maintained beachfront complex located on the easily accessible east end of the island, just minutes from the Causeway. The property features one of the largest heated swimming pools on the island, tennis and pickleball courts, private beach access and BBQ grills all available for you to enjoy. Elevator access is available.

THE ISLAND
Located about 25 miles from Fort Myers airport, Florida's Sanibel Island feels secluded, with a beautiful coastline. It's an excellent spot for shell collectors too, named one of the top shelling destinations in the world. If you are looking to break away from the beach, Sanibel's natural surroundings are full of potential outdoor adventures. Bike paths are plentiful on the island making it easy to explore and get around. You will fall in love with Sanibel Island!

THE EXTRAS
High Speed Wifi included. Three Smart TV's with cable for all of your streaming favorites. A full size washer and dryer are also in-unit. Quality linens provided. Everything you need for a day at the beach: beach chairs and umbrellas, sand toys, beach towels and wagon.

FAMILY FRIENDLY
Suited for family travelers who like convenience, the condo is stocked with a crib, portable high chair, child-friendly plates, cups and utensils. Your little ones will be cozy in the full size portable crib outfitted with organic bedding. No need to haul your pack n play!

GUEST REQUIREMENTS
Guests must meet minimum age requirement of 28 in order to book this property. Guests must be clean and respectful of property and its rules, including those of Loggerhead Cay Condo Association. We strive to keep our unit in top notch condition and expect our guests to do the same. A signed rental agreement is required prior to reservation confirmation.

THE FINE DETAILS
7 night minimum stay // Saturday to Saturday Check-In/Check-Out.
Minimum stay is required by local Sanibel laws. Sorry, no exceptions.

Occupancy cannot exceed 6 people // Max 4 adults

Loggerhead Cay and Sanibel Island are recovering from Hurricane Ian. We welcome guests, but please understand there is still work to be done.

A SIGNED RENTAL AGREEMENT IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO RESERVATION REQUEST CONFIRMATION.

Great for families

We stayed 6 nights over our teenage sons Spring Break. It was nice to be surrounded by so many families and to see Sanibel coming back to life. The condo had very comfortable beds, pillows and sofa. Cute decor. Nice kitchen to cook a few meals in. We'd go back again!

Luxury at Loggerhead Cay

Superhost Tara was the best. The condo was beautiful, well-furnished and with a great ocean view. There were even beach chairs, pickleball paddles and balls, and a heated pool. Great winter getaway.

Beautiful Saniel Vacation

We have been vacationing on Sanibel for 10 years. This is our first time at the beautiful Loggerhead Cay property named Cocohut. Perfectly described and pictured as shown, very clean and in excellent condition very well equipped with everything you could image, the grounds and pool were amazing. Our hosts Tara and Mike were always so responsive and accommodating. We could not recommend the Cocohut more and cannot wait to return soon. .

Amazing

The Cochin was everything and more. Had everything you want or need for a short or long stay. Having towels linens was such a treat.! Paper towels soap for kitchen and laundry all little things but made life easier this trip. The location and property were perfect. So close to beach shelled every day and night. Beach was not crowded which was nice. After not seeing Sanibel for 4 + years it was wonderful to return. Tara and Mike were amazing communicators never had to wait to hear back. I could go on and on. If your looking for a lovely condo on Sanibel - Cocohut is it!

Perfect Beach Getaway

If I could give this property 6 out of 5 stars, I would! Our family has been visiting Sanibel for 20+ years and have stayed at Loggerhead Cay on most all trips. This is by far the most well-equipped, updated, comfortable condo we have ever stayed in. It fit four of us with room to spare and had everything we needed, including a fully stocked kitchen. Having access to a separate storage unit with plenty of beach chairs, an umbrella, and wagon was an extra bonus. To top everything off, Tara and Mike were always so responsive and accommodating. We could not recommend the Cocohut more and cannot wait to return soon.

Great location

Property was clean and pretty. Location is great. Close to everything and easy walk to the beach. Shelling was so good at the beach by the condo we didn’t venture to other beaches on the island! Minor things
 Guest bath could use a couple more hooks for towels and shelves for supplies. Shower doors leaked but worked with mat on floor. Master bedroom would be nice if ceiling fan was added. Some area rugs were bulky and had wrinkles. Overall a great place to stay.

We have been vacationing at Loggerhead Cay for many years. The Cocohut was the cleanest and most complete condo we have rented to date. Everything you need for a wonderful Sanibel vacation is provided. Location on the property is perfect, close to pool and steps to the ocean. Recovery on the island from hurricane Ian continues with many good restaurants now open along with completely open bike paths. Looking to return again next year!!

We just completed our week stay during spring break. The condo had wonderful furnishings and a fully stocked kitchen. There were some Keurig machine cofee pods available and we contributed more at the end of the stay we had left over for others. The storage area a few doors down had everything we needed regarding umbrellas, chairs, and a shelling net. Lots of construction occuring which was expected and not an issue. Had a blast playing tennis on the newly readied court - pickle ballers were out there too. Thank you Tara and Michael for sharing this unit with us.

Wonderful place!

We had a wonderful family trip to Sanibel over the holidays. The condo was beautiful, spacious, clean, and comfortable for our family of 6. A couple of the days were cool and rainy, but we really didn't mind. We were happy to spend a little time together indoors. The oversized sectional couch made it easy for us to hang out together comfortably. We also enjoyed using the heated pool, even on days that were a bit chilly. The beach was just a short walk from the condo. It really wasn't crowded at all and was the perfect spot for shelling. We rented bikes for the week and had a great time biking to shops, to get ice cream, and out to Lighthouse Beach. We would love to visit again!

My family has been going to Sanibel for over 20 years. Most of the time we stayed at Loggerhead Cat. Mike and Tara’s condo is absolutely beautiful. So relaxing!

We loved the location! It’s just a short 3 minute walk to the beach. We needed to contact the owner during our stay and they were very responsive. The condo is beautifully decorated. The screened in patio is lovely since it’s shaded in the afternoons. The nightly thunderstorms came in and the patio was the perfect place to enjoy them. I definitely recommend the Cocohut!
