I found this property while looking for a rental near Ojai large enough for our family of five - and with three teens that isn’t always easy. The property seemed really lovely in the photos, but I was not really prepared for how cool the place really is. The barn house is really an old barn that was once a bunkhouse for the cowboys who worked on the ranch. Marianne and Vito have renovated the space with the perfect collection of handsome and interesting but comfortable antiques, and the bathrooms are beautiful. There is no central heat or air in the barn house, but heaters kept the bedrooms comfortable and toasty, and newly heated floors are an added bonus. The kitchen has everything - including two sets of dishes, one ceramic for indoors and one unbreakable set for outdoors. We didn’t enjoy the outdoor spaces as much as we could’ve - two porches, a pool, fire pit and grill, as we packed out our days with visits to Ojai, Ventura and Channel Islands - all very close, easy drives. We did meet all of the animals on site - including chickens, ducks, horses, cows, guinea fowl, and a bunch of adorable goats. The grown-ups also hiked the rim trail around the property, which has 360 views including a clear line all the way to the ocean. We could’ve spent all of our time on the ranch, and look forward to a return visit to do just that! Marianne and Vito are such considerate hosts. The kids loved it as well!
