We really enjoyed our stay at Greg's lake house. While we went in the winter (February), I could easily see how this place would be a lot of fun in warmer weather as well--with plenty of outdoor entertaining/enjoyable space. We particularly liked lounging, watching movies, chatting, and playing games in the spacious upstairs living room. Our daughters also enjoyed the games in the basement great room (pinball-air hockey table, soccer/boccerball table, dartboard, etc). We also spent some time relaxing in the hot tub.
Greg was very accommodating and quick to respond when I had an issue with the keypad entry upon checkin. He seems like a great guy.
The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of appliances (instant pot, air fryer, toaster oven, Keurig and regular coffee maker, griddle). The place was well stocked generally. We've been to places before that were stingy on everything from toilet paper to hand soap to dishwasher pods, but there were no such issues here!
One of the only downsides to the place actually relates to how well stocked the place was: unlike most of the rental places we've stayed at that are impersonal and more hotel-like, this rental is clearly the vacation home of a family. They probably come up and use the lake house regularly, and keep all of their supplies and personal items around the house. I'm sure they're happy to share items with guests (and they explicitly say so in the welcome letter), but we did feel a little like we were borrowing someone else's space (moreso than with other rentals), and we didn't want to push their generosity--if that makes sense. We never got any negative vibe at all from the owner, so this is really just our mentality knowing all of the personal items that were around. The refrigerator was decently (not completely) full of food, some of which was noted as shareable--to the extent that it was difficult to find room for the cooler full of food we brought with us. There is a second refrigerator in the basement, however, that had plenty of space (though was not convenient to go back and forth to the kitchen using the spiral staircase).
