Great Staff, Terrible Facilities – Hilton Should Be Embarrassed
We stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton from 3/27 to 4/1. The staff were helpful and responsive—maintenance came quickly (and often), and the location is excellent, right by the mall and lots of great restaurants. The made-to-order breakfast was a nice touch.
But that’s where the positives end.
The hotel itself is in seriously poor condition. Every single day, guests were getting stuck in the elevators—literally, daily. The pool was visibly dirty, and the spa had dirt floating on the foam. I took a photo of it because I couldn’t believe it. I wouldn't let my kids near the water.
Our bathroom toilet clogged with just a small amount of toilet paper—twice. Maintenance had to fix it. The shower took ten minutes get the water luke warm each morning, and the in-room phone to call the front desk didn’t even work. Maintenance did fix that too.
To top it off, our room’s door lock completely failed. After a late night out, we had to wait while the manager used special tools to break us back into our own room. And it happened the next morning as well.
It feels like this hotel is being held together with duct tape and optimism. The staff are clearly doing their best, but the building is a mess. For a Hilton property—especially an Embassy Suites—this is not acceptable. Hilton should take a hard look at this location, because right now it’s running on reputation alone.
