Location: Located less than 2 hours from Toronto on the shores of Upper Buckhorn Lake, just east of Kawartha Lakes, this modern cottage offers an ideal destination for large families or two families seeking a vacation getaway.

Lake Views: Enjoy stunning northwest lake views from the main living area and the master bedroom, both featuring walkouts to newly installed decks.

Accommodation: The cottage features 3 bedrooms (Queen, Double, Single-over-double bunk bed) and 3 pullout couches, providing flexible lodging options for various group sizes and family configurations. There are two washrooms and a newly installed, fully functional, outdoor shower with a lake view!

Recreational Facilities: Inside, you'll find an open concept living room and kitchen. The lower-level rec-room offers ping-pong, pool, darts, a smart TV, and karaoke for entertainment, while a sunroom with a reading library and board games provides a quiet retreat for relaxation.

Outdoor Activities: Along the shoreline, discover a hammock swing, sandbox with toys, firepit, and a walk-in swimming area. Outdoor enthusiasts can make use of 2 kayaks, a standup paddleboard, a 3-person canoe, and a 2-person pedal boat, along with life jackets for all ages. Outdoor games like badminton, lawn bowling, and washer toss are available, and a fishing motor-boat is available for rental. Be sure to bring your water shoes and fishing gear for a complete experience.

Local Amenities: The cottage is conveniently located just 5 minutes from Buckhorn, where you'll find a grocery store, LCBO, and several restaurants. A free boat launch is a minute away, and nearby towns/cities such as Lakefield (20 minutes), Bobcaygeon (25 minutes), and Peterborough (30 minutes) offer additional attractions and conveniences. There is also the Riverview Park & Zoo (25 minutes), Canada's only FREE accredited zoo, which offers an amazing and informative experience.

Buckhorn Beauty
Beautiful cottage. Very equipped for a large group. We were 10 adults. The pullouts weren’t the most comfortable so we would recommend just sleeping on the couches themselves, or bring an air mattress! Couldn’t get enough of that lake view. We took full advantage of the dock and waterside activities. Jacob was a great host and communicated quickly throughout the weekend.

Stayed here with some friends over Canada Day weekend, the place is great and has tons to do, lots of space and nice water access for swimming and boating, did a little fishing too. Definitely would love to stay here again Jacob was a great host

Amazing Hidden Gem!
My group of 10 adults was blown away by this cottage. The location and views are amazing, there are so many activities provided and the host is wonderful, responsive, and very helpful. We hope to return next year!

Wonderful retreat
This is a beautiful place to unwind and relax. The property was immaculate and spacious. The host responded quickly to my questions. Everyone enjoyed the kayak’s, paddle boards and the gorgeous sunsets. We would definitely go back!!

Excellent vacation
The check in worked very well. The cottage was very clean and spacious. The cottage accommodated 13 of us (8 adults and 5 children). We used all 3 pull out couches and brought our own blow up mattress. We loved all the water equipment (2 kayaks, 1 paddle board, 1 pedal boat). Also we used the billiards table and ping pong. There are a lot of stairs to the water which we didn’t mind but could be an issue for some people. The cottage is close to Buckhorn. I would definitely recommend Alloro Pizza. One of the best I have ever tasted. The Petroglyphs are nearby and would recommend. The kitchen is well appointed. It did not have a blender and I like to make smoothies. The kitchen table and table on deck are big and was able to accommodate us The cottage comes with bedding except for pull out couches. The water is very weedy but that can’t be helped It is a lovely spot and we would highly recommend

Relaxing weekend with a great view
Our group met over Canada Day weekend for a nice relaxing retreat. The cottage is a really great place. Clean, welcoming, well furnished with many things for our enjoyment. The basement is always cooler than the rest of the house, which is great for hot days. We all honestly had a great relaxing weekend. Only small "issue" (which has nothing to do with Jacob and the cottage itself) relates to the quality of the lake water. The kayaks and the canoe are amazing and a great opportunity to go on the lake, but swimming is less fun than we had hoped because of the high concentration of algae's and the overall "muckiness" of the water. Again, nothing to do with the host and the cottage per-say, but if the group intended to spend some time swimming in the water, you might find yourself somewhat disappointed.

A perfect weekend getaway!
Jacob’s lakehouse was everything we hoped for and more! The location was perfect - close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough away to feel like we were in our own private oasis. The cabin was very spacious, clean and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed for our stay. We especially loved the private access to the lake, free to use water equipment (paddle board, life jackets, pedal boat) and the beautiful views from the deck. Jacob was very friendly and accommodating, - he was welcoming of our dogs and large party. Thanks for a great time Jacob! We can't wait to visit again :)

Fun weekend getaway
I went with a group of 10 and we enjoyed our stay this past weekend. First, the property was very clean. My biggest concern when renting a place is the cleanliness of the bathroom. It was all extremely clean, and I liked that there weren't crevices where dirt could build up. The water pressure and heat were phenomenal! The house had everything that we needed to cook. The water toys that Jacob allowed us to use were lots of fun, and there were plenty of life jackets. Checking in was very easy and Jacob was always very responsive and timely. It was a pleasure communicating with him. I would recommend using google maps to find the cottage, as the neighborhood has many small roads and it's easy to get lost. There are also lots of flying insects, so bug spray is a must (which is to be expected as the house is right on the lake). However, there were no bugs inside the house! It was wonderful. Also, if you need to go into town for any reason, there's one about 15 minutes drive away. My favourite part of the cottage was the sunroom. It was so relaxing to lounge while taking in the view. Other members of my party loved the game room and especially the ping pong table! The cottage is laid out in a way where people cooking in the kitchen could communicate with people in the dining area and living room, so it wasn't isolated, which we really appreciated. Overall, my group had an amazing time, and Jacob was a wonderful host. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway for the weekend.
