Pacific Sunset House - Spacious Family Home With Exceptional Ocean Views

Comfortable, clean, recently renovated family home, with crashing whitewater waves, and ocean views from every room! This home features 4 bedrooms, with 3 bathrooms, a large family room, (or 5th bedroom), living room, dining room, and an upstairs and downstairs deck to relax and watch the beautiful Pacific Ocean sunsets!

A perfect home for a single family, or multiple families or friends, for vacations, and reunions. So much to do! The amazing Beach at Smith River, is a great way to spend the day, bring a picnic, and enjoy splashing in the waves, or just walking along the water's edge! Explore the nearby ancient redwood forests just minutes away. Take a stroll on one of the trails at Walker Road, or Stout Grove. Go swimming, whitewater rafting, or kayaking on the beautiful and clean Smith River. Take a fishing tour on the Smith River where Chinook Salmon and Steelhead trout flourish in the fall and winter. Or maybe a Jet Boat tour on the Klamath River or a tram ride through the forest at the Trees of Mystery, in Klamath, California.

The large ocean view yard is perfect for wedding receptions, and special events. Up to 40 daytime guests allowed, with advanced permission and approval. A fire pit with chairs is ready for making smores at night, and a deck for stargazing on a clear night. Fresh blackberries are ripe to pick and enjoy around the yard in the late summer.

The Lucky 7 Casino, House Of Howonquet Restaurant, gas station, and mini market are withing walking distance for an evening out. Conveniently located between Crescent City, California, and Brookings, Oregon, for great restaurants and exploring.

Comfortable beds and sleeping accommodations are ready for up to 12 people, with a maximum of 10 adults. There are two bedrooms with California King size beds, two bedrooms with queen size beds, one full size day bed in the multi use family room, with a single trundle bed tucked underneath it, and one fold out ottoman for cot size bed in the living room. Advanced permission needed for more than 12 people to stay. Please make additional people request when booking or inquiring. The additional rate is $50 per day for each additional person, over the 10 adult limit. No charge for infants and babies under 3 years old, sharing a room and / or bed with their parents.

The house was wonderfully decorated. It is better than the pictures. It was nice to have a piano & large table for our Thanksgiving celebration. The location is prime for exploring beaches and forests.

We had six people staying in the house and it accommodated all of us beautifully. The house was the most well-stocked house we’ve ever stayed in on VRBO. Centrally located with easy access to both CA and OR I would highly recommend staying here.

A Great Stay!
Our group of 9 adult family members all agreed this home was comfortable and relaxing. Due to an unusual heat wave in the west, the weather here was absolutely amazing! Crystal clear and pleasantly warm every day. We couldn't think of a single item we needed that wasn't provided, and we really appreciated (and contributed to) the left-over spices cupboard. Had a great barbeque lunch our last day, the perfectly located gas grill worked flawlessly. Good communication through the app with host Rhonda easily took care of a couple of minor issues. Great place, great stay, highly recommend.

2,100 SQ FT is well thought out - 1 week with a family of 12. Exceeded expectations
Summary: I was pleasantly surprised by how well thought out this home is. I was concerned that 12 people (8 adults, 4 teens) could not be comfortable in 2,100 SQ FT. However, the 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths upstairs are well appointed and comfortable. The addition of a sink and coffee center in the hallway is genius. It allowed for people upstairs to make a cup of coffee early without having to be concerned about waking anyone downstairs. We had family sleeping in the 5th bedroom downstairs (living room with built in stylish screen. A 3/4 bath and laundry are located nearby. We enjoyed the gas grill, fire pit, full fridge and bonus wine fridge! The kitchen is plentiful, we found the appliances, cookware, dishes, and utensils needed. This property is near everything. It was so easy to take a short drive and be in the redwoods or at the beach. This home exceeded my expectations and I'm grateful we found it and that the host was so accommodating.

Communication was great-property was clean. I would say if it’s cold make sure to stop off and grab pellets for the stove- the only thing slightly negative was an animal got into the trash the first night we stayed so cleaning up trash that was not ours was not much fun.

Beautiful Sunsets for Wedding Reception
We enjoyed our stay at the spacious Pacific Sunset House. It was definitely large enough for our group of 6 family members.The kitchen was well stocked. Quiet location and convenient to hwy 101. Loved that every bedroom had an Ocean view. Our grandson/son/brother Liam and his fiance Shea's married at Lone Ranch Beach and had their wedding reception at this house. Beautiful settings for both the beach wedding and the house's yard for the reception. The owner Rhonda was very willing to help with the planning for the Wedding reception. Only down fall is the ground is uneven in the yard. Thank you The Moore/Sheen Family

Can I give the owner 10 stars?
Well kept home, no carpeting, redone bathrooms and kitchen. Loved that there was a crockpot to use plus many other kitchen items. Dining table is huge, fit the whole family. Huge backyard, not completely fenced. Had a fire pit which was super fun for the family. Not a big deck but I loved that there were a ton of chairs so that everyone was able to pull up a chair around the fire pit. The one weird thing was the tv was in the room on the main floor with the bed. We didn’t use it, as I am sure most people don’t because you’re at the beach but might be useful information for someone. Master bedroom has a tv and one of the bedrooms upstairs has a deck to walk out on. Would I stay here again? Yes….yes I would. Thanks Rhonda!

Great location to access USFS trails for hiking and access to beach activities.
Owner should consider adding pavers or hard surface to the front entrance to alleviate tracking mud or sand especially in wet weather conditions. Not sufficient cover at the front door to protect shoes being placed outdoors as requested by the owner. Enjoyed the use of the home. Kitchen and bathrooms fully stocked. Could have used a scissor in the kitchen, though.
