Worst hotel experience
1) No hot water. When asked what was being done about this, the front desk told us that nothing could be done because there is no maintenance on duty. The man at the front desk also told us that the hot water issue was in “every hotel in Solvang due to extreme weather conditions”. (It was 40 degrees,. Not extreme weather. And we called 2 other hotels who all confirmed they had hot water.) This same front desk person told us we should just go to another hotel. It is New Years Eve. This is unacceptable. 2) The front desk person addressed my husband as “bro” and showed little concern for our issues. We asked to speak to a manager. We were told that there is no manager on duty as well. When we asked who do they call for an emergency, we were told repeatedly “they don’t care about this hotel. There is nobody to call.” 3) There is a large leak right outside our door. Water was pouring from the roof immediately outside of our door all night. It was loud and kept us awake. We thought it was raining it was so loud. 4) The people above us stomped around until about 3am, again causing us not to be able to sleep. 5) This room was described with a “cozy fireplace” and breakfast included. The room did NOT have a fireplace. Was small and unkept.The bed was atrociously hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was a plate in the lobby with cold old pastries on it. There was no coffee. There is no cleaning service in the room either. This is a far cry from how this room was described.
