Timber Frame House overlooking Lake Superior, 20 miles from downtown Duluth

Beautiful timber-framed house with over 3900+ square feet, plus another 1100+ square feet in the guest house. Includes both buildings and 550 feet of private lake shore. It is located at the end of a 3 mile long gravel road. Quiet. Secluded. Private. Come enjoy a beautiful escape on the south shore of Lake Superior. NOW with high speed wifi! Literally 100 times faster than our old DSL (starlink- 253 mbps on July 3, 2024)!

This home was built entirely from locally harvested white pine in 2002. Approximately 100 feet to Lake Superior's sandy shoreline. 10 Queen beds with three custom made bunk beds will be enough to fit your whole family and then some.

Sauna, swimming, camp fires, and star gazing... all to your hearts’ content at this secluded retreat.

We enjoyed our long weekend. The place provided us with ample space to spread out. The weather didn’t cooperate for us to have a fire in the fire pit. Nice place.

Lake Superior south shore adventure
Our first impression as we drove up to the property was "WOW." The host provided everything...and more... that we needed to have a wonderful stay. He made himself easily available in case we needed anything. The home and grounds are beautiful and private. The great room was especially impressive. And we loved having 500+ feet of private Lake Superior sandy lakeshore. The general consensus of our group was to try to rent the property again next year! Thank you Kristopher!! One suggestion for improvement. The path to the beach from the house was pretty challenging for our oldest group member. It would be very helpful if you could improve that. The private beach was wonderful! Thanks Kristopher!

Great property for a vacation with friends.
The house and property worked out great for us and four other couples. The view of the lake along with the cool breeze coming off of it was wonderful especially due to the hotter than normal weather we experienced. There was plenty of room in the backyard for outdoor activities. The house itself was perfect in terms of space and comfort for all of us. Would stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Great place for a family get together
We had a large group with all ages and this house worked perfect for everyone. The beach was swimmable and walkable which was a nice surprise- beautiful at sunset. We played wiffleball in the large yard and had outdoor coverage during the rain by using the open garage. The bathrooms are a little outdated but would highly recommend this property!

This property worked very well for our family gathering with 17 people. Plenty of space to hang out and catch up. More actual sleeping spaces than listed due to sleeper sofas and futon beds. Kitchen was a little small but functional. Overall we were very happy with the property.

Superior Family Gathering
Experienced "Up North" with our blended family of five adult children, their spouses and our grandchildren. Lots to do inside and out. Lake Superior was closer to the house than I expected so all the better! There's a swimming beach down the road where we saw some spectacular sunsets.

This property was perfect for our large family gathering. Kris was very helpful and communicative throughout the process. The kitchen was well stocked with tools to cook for a group. Beds were comfortable and the breeze off the lake was plesant. We enjoyed the nearby fishing beach and Amnicon Falls State Park. The provided firewood was more than enough for our enjoyment. 50th Anniversary Celebration
An amazing roomy clean and well stocked rental for a large group. There was 18 ppl (5 families) and never once did we feel crowded. Beautiful home, yard, beach. The house has all of the required necessities you will need for a stay. It has kitchen ware, gaming room and a full bedding. The house was able to accommodate all of our groups needs. The property, featuring two comfortable houses, caters to both relaxation and entertainment, with a basement filled with games, ping-pong, pool, and classic arcade machines that kept my family endlessly amused. While everything was delightful, a note for future guests: consider bringing your own toiletries and spices, as these personal touches are sparse. A suggestion for the host would be to enhance the welcoming experience with a small basket of essentials and a well-stocked spice rack. Additionally, an upgrade to the Wi-Fi could enhance connectivity for those who wish it. Despite a few spots needing attention, the property’s vastness makes these minor and does not detract from the overall splendid experience. This rental is a true gem for those looking to immerse themselves in nature without forgoing comfort.

Thanksgiving family trip
This is our second time staying at this South Range, WI property and it couldn’t have been nicer for our family. It was difficult to find a large enough place for our family of 15, ranging in age from 5 months to 68 years. We had plenty of private sleeping spaces and large areas to gather together. The kitchen was all in working order for us to prepare our feast. Kris’ hospitality was great - he was available by messaging and by phone to answer questions prior to our arrival. AND, of course, the ever powerful Lake Superior was an easy short walk from the home. We could hear the waves rolling in at night! Thanks for a great together time in your Timber Frame home on the south shore of Lake Superior!
