Good place, absolutely terrible experience booking with host
The good: Modern, nice, great location. Entry complicated so be patient with codes. Fenced parking. Bed firm. Mostly clean, plenty of towels, coffee, etc. The bad: booking experience worst ever. Paid via VRBO, but then told it was partial payment and figure it out. Card good, no reason this should happen. Contacted host via VRBO, they said not sure why, figure it out. VRBO has no way to do that, so I asked how to pay and host sent list of Zelle, Venmo, Paypal, but VRBO’s inbox blanks out. After this, host texts me their Venmo contact to pay. Was busy so I sent Venmo. Then host no longer responded. After messaging the host several times, they sent email links to Venmo. I sent a Venmo screenshot to host to prove I’d paid. Then no reponse after. Felt like a scam and was stressed for days thinking I’d sent money to a scammer. I disputed charge with Venmo and my bank and shared my concerns in a VRBO help chat. VRBO said sending Venmo is normal and place was legit. Was about to call the host after 3pm on check-in day when I saw they sent the check-in info. Was relieved everything turned out ok but no one should have to go through this. Simple response of receiving my Venmo payment was all I needed. Paying through VRBO should be all you have to do. Host is very disorganized and terrible communicating. Just a few templated responses and not much else. If you do book this place just pack tons of patience, use a form of payment you can cancel, and communicate clearly with them.
