The Old Post Office is a quirky, Grade 2 listed, thatched cottage, dating back to the late Sixteenth Century when it was originally two tiny cottages. It was converted into one property and became the original village Post Office in 1903. The cottage has been tastefully modernised whilst retaining its many original features.
Dorsington is a tranquil village with plenty of historic buildings and the cottage is a short walk to The wonderful Dorsington Arboretum. The village is just 7 miles to Stratford Upon Avon and less than 5 miles to the northern boundary of the Cotswold District.
The Cottage has private, off road parking for 2 vehicles. There is a sizeable out-building which houses the hot tub and laundry room. There is ample, lockable storage space for bikes etc. There is a lawned garden to the rear of the property with a patio dining area , and a bbq. There is an outdoor hose for washing down muddy boots and paws.
Downstairs we have a w/c, a modern but traditionally styled kitchen with an adjoining pantry. There are separate living and dining areas each with a wood burning stove for those chilly nights.
Upstairs there are 2 spacious bedrooms with comfortable King Sized beds and a full modern bathroom with an over-bath shower.
Guests should be aware that the property features low ceiling beams, particularly in the living room and the first floor windows are very low to the ground.
Please note that due to the timber structure and thatched roof, smoking is strictly prohibited in and around the property. Candles are not permitted but battery powered candles will be provided for you.
