Experience solitude just steps from the ocean! Wake up to the still sounds of nature and enjoy breakfast on the outside patio. Hike along trails that were built by the locals straight from the backyard. Enjoy kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding right from the private beach, or just simply cozy down with a book. Relax and enjoy the evening sunset and wildlife around the outdoor fire pit. A perfect combination of being nestled in the woods, overlooking the ocean.
Built around 100 years ago by some of the first settlers of Read Island, BC. Recently renovated to meet your modern luxuries, this 900 sq. ft. house sits on three acres of ocean front property, completely off the grid. A unique accommodation for up to four guests.
The accommodation has one bedroom with a luxury king sized bed, and a living space with a comfortable queen pullout couch.
A full sized kitchen with fridge and freezer, and everything you will need for cooking, with a propane cooktop/oven inside, and an outside barbeque. Fresh coffee, tea, creamer and spices are supplied.
A spacious dining room to your enjoy your meals indoors, featuring a newly installed wood stove fireplace.
Full bathroom with stand up shower. We supply shampoo, conditioner, soaps and towels.
A spacious living room with many books to read, instruments to play, board games, art supplies and Starlink internet to keep in touch with loved ones during your stay.
Enjoy the outdoor space overlooking the ocean featuring a barbecue, table and chairs, covered lounge area with propane fire pit.
Guests have access to two kayaks, two paddle boards and one canoe. Life jackets are available and are mandatory to wear when on the water.
Enjoy hiking straight from the backyard. Immerse yourself amongst the trees, ferns and fresh air! Head into the forest and hike easy to moderate trails, built beautifully by the locals.
Free parking available at Hoskyn Channel Landing during your stay. Located in the upper parking lot only.
Arrive by boat! We have a 40' dock allowing up to a 30' vessel - guest only mooring. No electricity.
Water taxi is available from Campbell River. Priced according to their company.
We offer our guests scenic tours and fishing/prawning adventures, upon request and additional charge via cash or e-transfer. An amazing way to get out and explore wildlife, waterfalls, see the majestic mountains, or catch your meal for the day! *See brochure in the accommodation for pricing and info. Message for request. Fishing License can be purchased online and we can print on location. If you catch fish or prawns, we are happy to vacuum seal and store during your stay.
We live on the property, far enough away for your privacy, but close enough for anything you may need. We look forward to having you stay!

The easiest way is to open Google Maps on your cell phone, and type in "Hoskyn Channel Landing" in the search. Keep the app open the entire trip, as you will lose service along the way, but if the app stays open it wont stop the route.
From Campbell River ferry you will take a short 10 minute ferry ride to Quadra Island - Quathiaski Cove ferry terminal.
Drive North up the island to Hoskyn Channel Landing, to where you will park your vehicle, and we will be there to meet you to bring you over to Read Island. Just a short and scenic five minute boat ride to our unique location! More descriptive details are communicated after reservation is made.
Parking your vehicle in the upper parking lots is free. The boat ride is included with your stay and we require that you sign a liability form/boat passenger waiver upon arrival.
We ask that you bring food during your stay. If you need more we can order, pickup and deliver to you at an additional cost. Cash or e-transfer only.
As much as we love animals, unfortunately we are not a pet friendly accommodation.
The accommodation and property is not wheelchair accessible.
Children under 12 years of age are not allowed on boardwalk and dock without adult supervision, and must be wearing a lifejacket.
Lifejackets must be worn when using kayaks, paddle boards and canoe.
