Sublime Art Deco Cottage: Leura, Blue Mountains

A stylish Art Deco family home tucked away on a tranquil, rambling garden block. Steps away from beautiful Fairmont Golf Club and only 5 minutes drive to Leura Mall, spectacular scenic lookouts, waterfalls and bushwalks. Spacious and comfortably furnished for up to 8 guests, with plenty of room to relax and unwind after busy days of sightseeing in the Blue Mountains. Enjoy bird watching and escarpment cliff glimpses from the garden terrace and cosy evenings with a glass of wine by the open fire!

Our home is an elegantly Art Deco styled house, tucked away within tranquil established gardens designed by the world-renowned Paul Sorenson landscape artist.

The house has been luxuriously appointed with antique furniture, Art Deco style artwork and sculptures, and retains many of its charming original features such as the lighting fixtures, ornamental ceiling roses and coloured glass panels.

Spacious and filled with beautiful natural light, the house has been recently updated and furnished with all the modern comforts including ducted central heating, renovated bathrooms (one with jet spa bath), and a fully-equipped designer kitchen with dishwasher and Nespresso machine!

We are only a stone's throw from the beautiful Fairmont Golf Course and Resort, and conveniently located close to Leura Village and many other key Blue Mountains tourist attractions.

Bedroom One:
King size bed with garden views, bedside tables, lamps and free-standing wardrobe.

Bedroom Two:
Queen size bed with garden views, bedside tables, lamp, dresser drawers and large free-standing wardrobe.

Bedroom Three:
Two single beds, bedside table, lamps and free-standing wardrobe.

Studio/Bedroom Four:
There is also a separate studio space downstairs with a queen size bed and third bathroom (with toilet, bathtub and basin) which can be made available upon request for bookings of 5 or more guests. To note, extra charges will apply.

Perfect for families with older children, groups of couples or friends who enjoy each other's company, but also crave a little privacy and their own space at the end of the day!

All freshly laundered bed linen and towels are provided.

Bathrooms:
The house has two bathrooms upstairs.
The main bathroom has a luxurious deep spa bath, vanity and basin, toilet and walk-in shower. The second ensuite-sized bathroom upstairs has a walk-in shower, basin and toilet.
There is a third bathroom with bathtub, toilet and basin in the downstairs fourth bedroom/studio space. This is only available for bookings of 5 or more guests.

Lounge Room:
The lounge room at the heart of the cottage has a huge open fireplace, perfect for toasting a few marshmallows!. There is a TV as well as a selection of books, puzzles, playing cards and board games to bring everyone together and make some happy memories.

Kitchen:
Cooks will love the newly renovated kitchen, with brand new appliances and all crockery, cutlery, cooking equipment and utensils provided for you to whip up a family feast. A selection of tea, coffee, condiments and even a Nespresso machine (with pods provided) for the coffee lovers!

Outdoor Spaces:
The terrace is a perfect spot to enjoy a family meal, a glass of wine or cup of tea overlooking the beautiful landscaped gardens with glimpses of the escarpments beyond the treetops.

Heating:
There is ducted central heating throughout the house, as well as a large open fireplace in the lounge room for the perfect mountains winter ambience. The downstairs studio space has portable electric heaters.

Location:
Conveniently located only a short drive to Leura Village shops, cafes, restaurants and quirky antique stores. A favourite spot for coffee or brunch, and to pick up a one-of-a-kind, locally-made gift or souvenir to take home with you.

The spectacular Sublime Point scenic lookout is only minutes away, and Fairmont Golf Club and Resort at the end of the street. National Park bushwalks, waterfalls and popular wedding venues are also all nearby.

Katoomba, Scenic World, the Grand Canyon, Giant Staircase and the world-famous Three Sisters lookout at Echo Point are only 6 minutes drive away.

The Jenolan Caves, Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens, Mount Victoria and Blackheath are all also easily accessible by car on the Great Western Highway.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the whole house and expansive gardens during your stay.

Please note the downstairs fourth bedroom/studio space (with queen bed and small third bathroom) is only available upon request for bookings of 5 or more guests. Please advise us how many beds/bedrooms you require when booking.

We are always available via Airbnb message to answer any questions or help make your stay more comfortable, and have property managers who live nearby if you do need any assistance.

Leura is a favourite spot for both locals and visitors to enjoy coffee or brunch, and to pick up locally handmade gifts or souvenirs from the many shops and boutiques along the Leura Mall.

Enjoy a relaxing stroll through the Leura Everglades, local parks and gardens. Spectacular waterfalls, scenic lookouts, National Park bushwalks and popular wedding venues are also close by.

Katoomba, Scenic World, and the world-famous Three Sisters lookout at Echo Point are only 5 minutes drive away.

The Jenolan Caves, Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens, Mount Victoria and Blackheath are all also easily accessible by car on the Great Western Highway.

Easily accessible from Sydney by car on the Great Western Highway, with plenty of free street parking available directly in front of the house.

The house is also only a short taxi ride from Leura train station. Trains arrive and depart for all villages and towns of the Blue Mountains as well as central Sydney.

For guests without a car who want to do lots of sightseeing, we recommend the "Blue Mountains Explorer Bus" that stops at all the villages, lookouts and major tourist attractions in the Blue Mountains region. You can buy a ticket just outside Katoomba train station.

A box of complimentary firewood, fire-starters and matches are provided. Additional firewood is available from the Katoomba Bunnings, Mitre 10, Leura Woolworths or any of the service stations along the Great Western Highway. Otherwise, there is ducted central heating throughout the house to keep you toasty warm!

The downstairs bedrooms/studio can be made available upon request for bookings of 5 or more guests.

Please note there is no air-conditioning or cooling at the house. However, the house does catch lovely breezes with the windows open.

Should you leave the property in a state that requires additional cleaning beyond the cleaners normal time/fees, this cost will be deducted from your security deposit.

Please make sure you have read (and agree to) ALL the House Rules below before proceeding with your booking:

- Check-in time is after 3pm. Check-out time is by 11am. Unfortunately at this time we cannot guarantee early check-in or late checkout requests due to the extra cleaning required between guests for COVID safety.

- Please make sure you have selected the correct number of guests before confirming your reservation. Bed linen and towels are supplied for the number of booked guests only.

- Children over 12 months old are considered a "child" not an "infant". This is due to additional cleaning and linen costs and the extra wear and tear of toddlers vs babies. If your child is over 12 months of age, please add them to the booking as "child" when entering guest numbers.

- Only guests on the reservation are allowed on the property at any time. If extra guests or pets are found to be staying on the property, or if a noise complaint is made by neighbours, you may be asked to leave immediately with NO REFUND.

- Strictly NO parties, events or gatherings of any kind allowed without prior written permission from the owners/managers. This is a place for small groups, families, couples or solo travellers to enjoy a quiet stay of rest and relaxation.

- No shoes inside the home please.

- Sorry, strictly NO pets allowed for the safety and comfort of guests with severe pet allergies.

- To respect our neighbours, we ask you to please be mindful of your noise levels before 8am and after 10pm - especially outdoors on the deck.

- Please note the house is located in a residential area. Loud noise, music, shouting, etc. after 10pm on weeknights (or midnight on weekends) will likely result in the neighbours making a noise complaint to the police. You may be asked to leave immediately with NO REFUND.

- Please clean the BBQ after use. An extra cleaning fee of $100 will be deducted from your security deposit if the BBQ is not cleaned.

- Strictly NO smoking indoors. If you wish to smoke outdoors please place all cigarette butts in the red bin outside. Please do not throw cigarette butts in the gardens or put in any of the indoor bins.

- Please remember Airbnb is a community and you are staying in someone's much-loved family home, not a hotel or a hostel. With this in mind, please treat the space with respect and leave it as you found it - dishes washed or placed in dishwasher and turned ON, surfaces clean, all rubbish disposed of in outdoor bins, furniture returned if moved, coasters and placemats used to protect the furniture, and items such as toys, puzzles, games and books packed away.

- Should you leave the property in a state that requires additional cleaning beyond the cleaners normal time/fees, this cost will be deducted from your security deposit.
