The good, the bad, and the ugly
Stayed 4 nights during June. Here are our thoughts:
The Good - Great views. House was stocked well, beds were comfortable, showers had good water pressure. Location of home was great, close to the National Forest & convenient to Taos
The Bad - Very hard to find especially at night. No address on the road and no lights left on. Typical 3rd party management oversights …burned out light bulbs, dirty windows, broken lamps & blinds, remote controls missing (especially frustrating was the remote for the main room light which we couldn’t use at all during our stay). Confusing checkout info asking us to place all garbage in outside dumpsters which didn’t exist.
The Ugly - the AC didn’t work, or rather I believe didn’t exist at all, even though it is an amenity listed (we could not find any evidence of an AC system inside or outside the house). Usually this is not a problem in Taos, but we did have some warm days and couldn’t use the living room in the afternoons. This was exacerbated by the fact that only one windows in the living room had screens. In addition there was a bad smell in the 2nd bedroom which got worse when it was warm. All of this I reported to Vacasa which handled it very poorly, first telling me to open the windows for the odor & look for the remotes in drawers. Then after many text exchanges with different people each time, I was told the local team would get in touch, which they didn’t ☹️
