Only a one-hour drive from the Ottawa/Gatineau area, this idyllic haven offers the perfect escape for families and nature lovers alike. Imagine mornings spent sipping coffee on the covered dock, watching the mist dance across the glassy surface of Lac Woods, and evenings huddled around a crackling fire pit beneath a canopy of stars. Here, you can reconnect with each other and the beauty of the outdoors, all while minimizing your environmental impact.

The cottage itself boasts a warm and inviting rustic vibe, comfortably sleeping up to 8 guests. You'll find what you need for a relaxing stay, but with a focus on sustainable living and energy efficiency. Whether it's whipping up a feast in the fully-equipped kitchen or enjoying al fresco meals under the stars in the dining tent, this escape is designed to create lasting memories. Ditch the busy and embrace the serenity of lake life at our cottage on Lac Woods.

Enjoy the simple pleasures of lake life. Spend your days exploring the tranquil waters of Lac Woods on the included paddle boat, two stand-up paddleboards, or kayak. On land, discover the natural beauty surrounding the property on a nearby walking trail, perfect for a morning jog or an afternoon nature walk. And when hunger strikes, a convenient depanneur is just a 5-minute drive away in Ladysmith, ensuring you have everything you need for a stress-free stay.

The deck boasts a comfortable sectional, perfect for lounging and enjoying the tranquillity of the surroundings. Whip up culinary delights on the BBQ and savour delicious meals alfresco. A couple of considerations to ensure that you have the best stay:

* Be sure to bring your own firewood or purchase it locally and adhere to local regulations.
* Bring your own blankets and bedding as these items are not supplied for your use. The cottage is designed to be low-energy consumptive, there are no washers and dryers onsite.
* Please respect the neighbour's right to quiet between 11 p.m. and 8 a.m.
* Lac Woods is a non-motorized lake.

While we aim to maintain the highest quality standard in our cottage, the guest needs to understand that it is an off-grid sustainable cottage, which means features are not unlimited (such as solar power, subject to weather). While we have taken great lengths to provide as much stability in these systems as possible, they are not infallible. Meaning, if there are several days of rain or cloudy days, you may need to conserve how much you use the pumps/lights etc... Due to the limitations of the solar banks, there are no plugs in the cottage for anything requiring 120v (hair dryier, charger, toaster etc...)
