I booked Lake Resort before I had read all the 2* reviews. Unfortunately the reviews in this case were true. The photos are optimistic at best and taken when the place was new. Naturestrip in need of desperate mow.
No one was on Reception when we arrived so I rang the number and waited about 20 minutes for my key. I used this time to check out the "facilities" the pool was very long & narrow (maybe 2m). I passed the pool area and went out to the grass area on the lakeside. No decent furniture to enjoy what was a very nice view.
My key was finally given to me. First impressions, no view here as I opened into a depressing room with a small kitchenette, couch and bed. The window & glass door faced the car park with zero natural light.
The car park was very tight and I was extremely concerned about being parked in and angled my car to ensure the easiest exit.
TV had no remote control. Phoned for help, but managed to locate a friendly neighbour who gave me their remote so I could switch TV on. Phoned again after 30 min to chase remote and waited another 30 before it finally arrived. Tried to connect to the WiFi. Signal only worked outside the Reception area.
Bedtime - I could not believe that the sheet did not fit the bed! At the end of the bed there was 30cm of mattress protective cover!
The toilet seat did not fit the toilet properly.
On leaving, I tried to follow the instructions for rubbish removal and could only find the recycling bin.
