Owner Double booked and I did not get to stay here
The owner called me 3 days before we were supposed to fly out to say that he had accidently double booked his house. Why he did not discover this until 3 days before my flight- I don't know. He had even asked for my second payment back in June. You would think that when he was requesting payment, he would have noticed back that he had two families booked in the same house. His house had a golf cart, sports channel, two king beds, a washer and dryer and a view of the beach. I picked it because of the amenities and proximity to the beach. He did book us a golf cart for 3 of the 6 days, but it was picked up on Friday and we were not leaving until Sunday. The substitute house he rented for us was just not the same- a long walk to the pool and beach, instead of having a beach view! I had a panic attach when he called and said we did not have a place to stay. I had purchased 4 plane tickets, rented a car in Marsh Harbor and had the whole trip planned, I was taking my twin granddaughters on their "14 year trip" and I spent a lot of time looking and planning. I did not have time to do all of that again three days before we were leaving Plus most houses were booked by then. He did book a substitute houses for us, but the amenities were not the same. The house he rented for us was several hundred dollars cheaper. He owes me a refund not only for the cheaper accommodations, but also for the STRESS he caused.
