Located just over 200m from historic Trentham's main street. The house was built around the turn of last century and originally used as a 'lying-in' maternity hospital before the local hospital was built in the 1930s. This beautiful piece of Trentham's history has been restored and updated with lots of modern features including a coffee machine and grinder for the home barista, unlimited NBN and 2 wood burning fires for cosy winter nights.
On arrival you enter into the first of two large living rooms with wood fire, split system with heating and cooling and sofas for curling up on to watch tv. The living room also has a desk to allow you to work from home during the week.
When it comes time for sleeping there are three bedrooms, 2 with comfortable queen size beds, while the third bedroom has 2 single beds and a second desk to allow for a second person to work from home. The bedrooms are all close to the luxurious central bathroom with rain shower over the bath. There is a seperate powder room and an internal laundry.
The kitchen comes well equipped with everything for cooking up some local produce, make sure you add some fresh herbs from the garden.
The large light filled room at the back of the house has a second wood fire to keep you toasty warm, a custom built dining table, reading nook and sofa for watching the day go by. A second split system in this living room provides extra heating and cooling.
French doors from the back living room open onto a north facing deck, great for your morning coffee or pre dinner cocktails on hot summer nights. Directly off the kitchen there is a second larger entertaining deck with an outdoor table to enjoy meals with family and friends, gas bbq and a hammock for reading or just sleeping under the tree.
The shed is set up for a game of table tennis or locking your bike overnight before venturing out on the local trails the next morning. The rambling rear garden has an outdoor fire pit and is fully fenced if you would like to bring your dog on holidays too.
While in Trentham, browse markets which are held every weekend in the region or explore the spa country. Daylesford, Kyneton and Woodend are all only a scenic 20 minute drive away. Alternatively leave your car parked under the big shady tree and just wander out the front gate. Within a couple of minutes you have the choice of a wide variety of local eateries and interesting shops to explore. It is an easy stroll back to the house after a meal at Du Fermier or any of the other great food places in Trentham.
We think you will enjoy your stay so much we have a minimum 2 night stay and 3+ nights for long weekends. Dog owners may like to note that part of the perimeter fencing includes a shorter picket fence across the front.
