Welcome to our beautiful and expansive chalet overlooking Donner Lake. We call it the "Milky Way" because of countless memories watching shooting stars and the Milky Way from our patio. From spectacular panoramic views to large living areas with two wood burning fire places, a gigantic and well equipped kitchen, plenty of beds, foosball, bunk room and loft with PS4 for the kids, a great location not far from downtown but away from the noise, and much more, the home has a ton to offer.

With over 3,800 feet of living space, we can host up to 15 guests (10 adults and 5 children under 7 years old), in 8 beds, making it perfect for multifamily groups as well as corporate and other retreats.

***IMPORTANT: 4x4 IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IN THE WINTER. Two wheel drive will usually not work, even without recent snow. The road and driveway can become slick from the freeze / thaw cycle and winds. Sometimes front wheel drive with snow chains works, but not ideal.

* Tahoe Donner Resort amenity guest passes: small fee to use recreational centers with pools, hot tubs, sauna, gym, and more. No hot tub, sauna, or pool at the home itself.

KITCHEN:
Large custom kitchen well equipped with cookware, bakeware, dinnerware needed to prepare a holiday meal. Large island utilizes this open space and aids in preparing for and serving large groups.

BEDROOMS:
4 bedrooms, with a king master room, 2 queen rooms, 1 bunk room, and a queen sleeper sofa in the loft, with a total of 8 beds.

Master (3rd floor) has a king, ceiling fan, large private bathroom

Bunk room (lower level) has two bunk bed sets;
1. a double over double
2. a twin over double.

There is also an additional twin trundle in the bunk room. This room is great for families with children.

Two queen rooms (lower level)

BATHROOMS:
Three full bathrooms total - one in the 3rd level master, one on the lower level, and one on the main level.
The private master bathroom has a jetted soaking tub and stand alone shower, with double vanities.
The main floor bathroom has a stand up shower.
The lower level bathroom has a shower / bath combo, conveniently located near the three lower level bedrooms.

MAIN FLOOR LIVING AREA
The open concept main living area (on the middle level) includes the open kitchen, large dining area with seating for 10, comfortable sitting area, wood burning fireplace, 70" TV with Chromecast and YouTube TV, separate workspace with a desk just off of this room, door to patio with amazing views of Donner Lake, large windows for plenty of natural light and views, and tall and valued pine ceilings.

DOWNSTAIRS OPEN ROOM:
The downstairs includes a separate living area with its own entry, wood burning fireplace, foosball table, 70" TV YouTube TV, and wet bar with a mini fridge.

LOFT
The upper level loft is great extra space, with an 82" TV, PS4, high-end queen sofa bed, window lounge seat, and activities for the kids. Kids gravitate to this area.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
* 10 Adults MAX, plus 5 children under 7 years old.
* 4 cars MAX (none in the street)
* During the winter and heavy snowfall, 4WD / AWD IS NEEDED to access the home. Steeper hill and typically more snow and ice than other areas.
* The cooktop is an induction cooktop; instructions nearby but personal pots and pans won't work with it unless for induction stoves.
* Surveillance: There are Ring cameras outside the home (nothing inside). Minut sensors may also exists inside the home to monitor decibel noise levels (nothing discernible). Learn more about this system by visiting Minut's website.
* This is a pet free home. No exceptions. Violating will lead to loss of security deposit and possible eviction.
* While there are features to assist children / babies (a portable baby crib, high chair, etc.) this is not deemed a 'baby-safe' home.

We expect all guests to be respectful, mature, and responsible. There is a zero tolerance policy abusive and negligent guests, loud groups, etc. If you want to squeeze 25 people into a house and party hard, this is not it. This is a tasteful, and well appointed home - please treat it as your own.

This said, we are open to mature individuals who want to party but know how to treat other people and their things with respect. NO LOUD or LATE PARTIES.

Guests agree to comply with Truckee and Tahoe Donner Vacation Home Rental ordinances and our rental agreement (emailed separately), and failing to do so, or violation of home rules in the listing, may result in egregious penalties, forfeiture of security deposit, and even eviction. GUEST COVID-19 NOTICE
We have developed a COVID-19 Plan which includes several additional measures and modifications to our operations and policies to help mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Some of these are identified below. Despite these efforts, we cannot eliminate the risk of COVID-19 transmission so please be extremely cautious and careful and travel at your own risk!
* Best Practice: Please wash hand thoroughly, especially when leaving or entering home. Use sanitizer where available as extra measure. Be mindful of guidance for physical distancing and use of face coverings when in public.
* Symptomatic / Positive Test: If you are knowingly / suspected to be infected with COVID-19 please contact us right away. Extra measures will be taken in such cases.
* Increased Surface Cleaning and Disinfecting: Surfaces and highly touched items are cleaned and dis-infected
* Vacuum cleaner w/ HEPA filter: we have supplemented vacuum inventory with additional HEPA filter vacuums and staff are instructed to use these.
* Linens and Trash: Sheets and towels are professionally laundered every-time, and trash is hauled off site promptly.
* Staff Policy: Staff are instructed to wear PPE and face coverings while operating in homes, as appropriate , and are not to work if exhibiting symptoms.
* Comforters: A fresh comforter casing system every booking.

This home exceeded our expectations!
We had an amazing stay! The house was very clean and spacious. The balcony had the most beautiful views of Donner Lake. I would highly recommended and would definitely return! Jason was a terrific host who responded quickly to questions. I would give this home an 11 if I could!

Overall, the stay was great. Plenty of room for us 7 adults and 5 kids. The kids loved having the bunk room and it was the bedroom with the best views. The kitchen had plenty of space for several of us to prep meals. We spent most of our time on the main floor watching movies, playing games, and appreciating the views. We found it to be a well organized house and although it could use some updating in some places everything was functional.

Wonderful home!
This house went above our expectancy! It’s located on a hill top, where the morning view and the sunsets are visible! The house has a nice layout, roomy and and a lot of open space. It snowed on our second day so we enjoyed sliding down the slope next to the house. We did not go out to much and chose to stay and enjoy the house and the views, you can’t get a view like that anywhere else! Everyone enjoyed the home, from the wood burning fireplace to the balcony! Just a few things to mention though, bring your own spices and condiments. And if you have 10 adults you may need to bring some additional pots and pans, there is 1 big pot and 1 big frying pan. (The other ones aren’t functional unfortunately). Also we had crawling twins so we would have liked the floors and carpet to have cleaned better. Otherwise it was a wonderful home! We would definitely be back next winter season!
