Wake up to chirping birds (we call it the Dovecote for a reason!), mountain views and a 5-minute walk to Canoa Hills Recreation Center (one of 8 Green Valley Recreation-GVR- centers available to everyone) for a fitness center, tennis, bocce, heated pool and spa. You also have quick access to over 5 miles of walking trails that are great for exercise, birding and wildlife watching. With 2 patios and another seating arrangement out front, you get to choose sun or shade for relaxing, morning coffee (Keurig or 12-cup Cuisinart Grind and Brew coffeemaker), cocktail hour, meals cooked over the Weber propane gas grill or in the well-equipped eat-in kitchen with gas stove with griddle insert. More "formal" dining for 6 is around the corner in the Great Room and on the patio under a lighted ceiling fan.
In the Great Room on the coffee table you'll find your Welcome Binder with all the information you need to be comfortable in The Dovecote and to find the many places of interest in and around Green Valley: the Farmer's Market; Madera Canyon; Arts and Entertainment Centers; Restaurants; Golf Courses; Casinos; Shopping; the best places for Birding, Hiking and Biking. We'll help you join Green Valley Recreation (GVR) for a monthly $50 per person fee paid to GVR that gives you access to all GVR facilities. In addition, the Community Performance Arts Center (CPAC) offers concerts, art exhibits and the renowned Tubac Art and shopping center is about 20 minutes away.
When you come home after an active day you'll appreciate all the comforts of home: pillow-top mattresses on both the cal-king bed in the master bedroom and the queen bed in the second bedroom; private bath with walk-in shower in the master and tub/shower in the hallway for the 2nd bedroom; ample linens including oversized bath sheets, plenty of pool towels and warm/cool duvets for all beds; a spacious walk-in closet in the master and closet in the 2nd bedroom; ceiling fans in both. You'll enjoy an in-house washer and dryer (detergent and drier sheets supplied). The house has been newly painted with calm, welcoming colors and new easy-care ceramic tile except in the bedrooms where the rugs have been thoroughly steam-cleaned. We leave you plenty of necessities to get you started like soaps, body creams, sunscreen, etc. And in the kitchen all any cook could ask for.
In the Canoa Vistas neighborhood you are minutes away from groceries, pharmacies, specialty shops, restaurants, hardware stores and support services: banks, gas stations and car repair shops, the UPS store, post office, real estate companies and medical facilities. And with Tucson only 20+/- minutes away you have everything you could want for pleasure or needs.
Be sure to take day trips while you're here: Tubac Arts Center, the history laden towns of Bisbee, Patagonia (Paton Hummingbird Center), Madera Canyon of the Santa Ritas that's always a bit cooler! for hiking, birding, picnics, relaxing. (national park pass or small fee for parking). Nogales, Tombstone; take a mine tour or tour the fascinating Titan Missile Museum or San Xavier Mission; explore Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge; enjoy wine tastings around Sonoita with a meal at "The Steakout" or "Copper Brothel Brewery"; camp, picnic and hike Madera Canyon, Picacho Peak, Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge and don't miss the Sonoran Desert Museum just west of Tucson, Casa Grande or Kitt Peak National Observatory. There are several Casinos nearby for dining and entertainment.
Your comfort at the Dovecote is our top priority. There's programmable instant hot water and all your utilities and trash/recycling are included in the rent. Motion sensors light up the entrance and solar powered lights guide you to the door with motion-activated lights. You'll have WiFi and 3 smart flat-screen wall-mounted TVs: one in the kitchen, one in the 2nd bedroom and a Roku 65-inch TV with DVD/CD player in the Great Room. You can even turn it to view from the back patio! Movie Night! Alexa and an HP wireless printer are available for your use. You can always contact us or our close-by property manager with questions. Entrance codes are forthcoming prior to occupancy.
We charge a cleaning fee but do not require a damage deposit at this time but be aware that you are responsible for any damage or breakage. Please help us keep from requiring this extra fee by caring for our home and furnishings as if it was yours...which it is during your stay.
