Visit the Wild Center, and The Adirondack Experience Museum at Blue Mountain Lake.
Perched on a hill in the forest, this casual and cozy Adirondack mid-century expanded cape style home is a 4 minute walk from the community beach and docks on the lake.
The main floor has a large open living room/dining room/kitchen area with washer/dyer access in a closet, master KING BED bedroom, and full bath. A huge deck with grill and screened in porch make it perfect for entertaining the whole family. The upstairs boasts three bedrooms that share a bath, and the house is bathed in sunlight within the tree top canopy. If you MUST work, the upstairs bedroom/office desk lets your spread out, and get it done in the natural light.
The Lake House is on a hill with a considerable driveway and we never know how much snow we're going to get in the winter, so if you are visiting in the winter you will need a Four Wheel Drive Vehicle and boots! There is a picture in the listing. Please email us with any questions.
Guests have the use and exclusive access to the entire main house including 4 bedrooms, two baths, open kitchen/dining room/living room, Open deck and screened in porch, and unfinished basement with water toys. The community waterfront is a 4 minute walk away, or drive, or bike. Guests have use of the beach, lounge chairs, picnic tables, docks, swim raft, fire pit, and boat ramp. Boat slip for your boat with prior arrangement: Maximum 19' long and 8' wide.
This home is close to the western access to the Adirondack High Peaks region for hiking and climbing, and endless lakes and rivers to explore by paddle, sail, or power boat. Winter sports include skiing, x-country, snowshoe, and snowmobile.
Just 24 miles away is Lake Placid, home of "The Miracle on Ice", and all 1980 Winter Olympic Sports Venues for countless World Cup Tour Competitions.
House Rules:
Access to entire main house except for 1 garage with separate entrance. No access to barn at bottom of hill. Guests have access to entire community Lakefront property including beach, docks, boat launch, horseshoes, firepit, picnic tables, as defined by map provided by owner upon booking. Mooring of a boat on the docks will be permitted with prior authorization, Max 19 ft boat, no pontoon boats (too wide). Guests' Pets must stay on owner's property, not allowed on community property/beach. Please be advised the Sekon Association allows our rental guests to use the boat ramp between the two docks. We will need you to email back a simple note stating that you understand that the use of our Sekon community docks, boat ramp, beach, any boats and the lake are at your own risk.
OWNER/CARETAKER reserves the right to stay in the barn at the base of the driveway. This often facilitates help for the guests for the hill/driveway/snow, trash removal, launching power boats, getting paddle boats to the water, outfitting with vests and water toys for kids of all ages, firewood, whatever the guests might want help with. We will never approach the guests' private main house unless invited by our guests.
WINTER travelers should be advised that we have a hill/driveway. Please look at the pictures in the listing. Given that we are remote and ADK weather can be unpredictable, this home is for INTREPID guests with four wheel drive vehicles and boots. We have the driveway plowed shortly before guests arrival and ask guests for $100/plow IF additional plowing is needed during guest's stay.
