Oak Tree is a charming, peaceful cottage with beautiful views over the East Sussex countryside with all amenities.
The cottage is finished to a high standard and comprises a double bedroom with a King sized bed, an ensuite bathroom, with a large bath and separate shower. There is a sitting room with Wifi and TV. There is a fridge with a small freezer compartment and an Indesit oven and two induction hobs, microwave, kettle and toaster. Both rooms have large French doors over looking the view. The cottage is self contained with plenty of parking.
Washing can be done in the main house, if required, for a small fee. There is an outside patio and seated area to enjoy the view and the (often) deer filled valley below. The sunsets are spectacular here!
Guest access
Plenty of off-road parking right next to the front door. The cottage is fully accessible for wheelchair users. There is a patio and garden area for guests.
Other things to note
The cottage is well located for Brighton, Tonbridge Wells and Eastbourne: all only 30' minute drive by car. Gatwick airport is 40 minutes away. The historic town of Lewes and the famous opera House of Glynebourne are only 7 miles away. Charleston, home to Virginia Woolf and the painters Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell (the inside of the house is covered in murals by them) is nearby. Charleston holds several literary festivals and along with Firle Place is only 20 minutes away. Uckfield, with its much loved Picture House cinema, is our nearest town and is just 4 miles away. There is also an excellent village shop with delicious, local produce just down the road in Isfield. The well known Piltdown Golf course is only 1 mile away and for walkers the famous Ashdown Forest, the Seven Sisters Chalk Cliffs and the South Downs are all nearby. Scenic beaches such as Cuckmere Haven and Birling Gap are also just over half an hour away. For Garden enthusiasts, many well know gardens are less than half an hour away including Wakehurst Place, Sheffield Park, Borde Hill, the Groombridge Estate and Rudyard Kipling's home, Batemans.
The cottage is also near to some excellent pubs including the Peacock Inn (0.5 miles), The Laughing Fish in Isfield, The Griffin in Fletching and The Anchor on the River Ouse. Close by too, are some of Sussex's most well known wine estates including Bolney, Rathvinny and Ridgeview.
