Family Friendly 4 BR Home w/ Huge Patio & Bbq near Bus and Skytrain Station

Step into this tastefully renovated home with 4 beds, 2 full baths, gourmet chef's kitchen, large living room, formal dining room and a large patio. Conveniently located steps from several bus routes and a short walk to Nanaimo Skytrain Station. Many cafes, restaurants and grocery stores such as T&T, Supermarket 88 and Safeway are walking distance. A short drive from YVR Airport, Downtown Vancouver (10 minutes), Burnaby (8 minutes), and Metrotown.

Start your day with a warm cup of coffee or tea on one of the patios! The home is equipped with everything you need to enjoy an amazing trip with your family and loved ones. The home offers 3 queen beds, 1 double bed and 1 air mattress which sleeps 9 people comfortably. The air mattress is available upon prior request. The main house is spacious over 1800 sf with a huge 800 sf patio. There is laundry ensuite on the lower level.

The gourmet kitchen has a large island with seating, basic utensils and ingredients, electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher and brand new stainless steel appliances. Filtered drinking water and automatic ice maker are available for your convenience. High speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the home. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, clothing steamer and two hair dryers can be found in the bathrooms. The home is family friendly with a high chair, crib and pack&play available upon prior request. Please let us know if there is anything else you require for a comfortable stay, we will try our best to accommodate it.

After a day of exploring the city, what is better than bbq-ing under twinkly lights? Outdoor games such as giant Jenga and Connect4 are present for your entertainment. End the night off with a movie on the 58" Smart Flatscreen TV in the living room or a game of chess. All bedrooms have blackout blinds providing a serene and optimal sleep environment.

Access Details:
You will have exclusive access to the whole upper level suite and patio. Please note that you will not have access to the basement suite. The tenanted basement suite has its own separate entrance, kitchen and laundry. Nothing is shared.

There are a couple of locked doors/closets on the lower level. It is for storage of our items when we are away.

Getting Around:
There is plenty of free street parking. Our home is only a few steps from bus stop and an 8 minute walk to Nanaimo Skytrain Station. Nanaimo Skytrain Station can take you straight to many of the main attractions of Vancouver such as downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park, Pacific Centre, False Creek, Science World, Coal Harbour, Canada Place, Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal, Roger's Arena, Chinatown, and Metrotown.

Local attractions:
*Downtown Vancouver, False Creek, Stanley Park, Aquarium, Science World, Coal Harbour, Gastown, Chinatown and shopping at Pacific Centre is only 10-12 minutes away.
*Shopping at Metropolis at Metrotown and Amazing Brentwood in Burnaby, one of the largest shopping malls in the surrounding cities is only 8 minutes away.
*Only 17 minutes to Richmond, Metro Vancouver's foodie destination. Richmond is home to the Summer Richmond Night Market, McArthur Glen Premium Outlets, YVR Airport and Steveston Village (a quaint fishing village where Once Upon A Time was filmed).
*For cruise travellers, the nearby Nanaimo Station takes you straight to Waterfront Station where the Canada Place Cruise Ship Terminal is.

Welcome to Cedar Cottage a quiet and family friendly neighbourhood with scenic mountain views conveniently located only 10 minutes from Downtown Vancouver. Nestled in the heart of East Vancouver, our home is close to Downtown without all the noise and busy-ness. Nanaimo Skytrain Station is an 8 minute walk from our home. Steps from many bus routes on Victoria Dr and Kingsway. You will be walking distance from many restaurants, shops, supermarkets on Kingsway, Victoria Dr and Commercial Dr. Only 10 minutes to Highway 1 West which takes you to Whistler and the many hikes that Vancouver is famous for! You will be steps from beautiful Trout Lake a popular urban lake and park with great views and walking trail, a skating rink, playgrounds for kids and a gym. In the summer, there is a great Farmer's Market at Trout Lake on Saturdays.

House Rules:
No shoes inside the house. No smoking inside the house. No drugs. No partying. No illegal activities. No loud noise after 11pm. No pets.

Any sort of disruption to the neighbourhood such as noise complaints, partying, smoking in the home, littering, or damage to the home will result in fines and/or eviction of your stay.

Group outing.
Host was exceptional! Very accommodating and responded to our requests quickly. House was spacious as listed and the spot was perfectly convenient for us if we ever needed to go somewhere(Grocery, Downtown, Restaurants, etc…) The only slight problem that future guests would have is it is technically NOT the entire house.as we only had access to the top floor but I think that’s what you expect for most of the houses you book. Overall I’d give this 9/10.

*Beware* Deceptive description & unsafe property for females with children
Where do I begin-unsafe neighborhood 2 blks from hwy/suspect activity. No outside lighting/blacked out & needed flashlights to find door. Host hides front of house photo because the gate is hanging broken/yard in shambles. House was OK inside but smelled horrible. HERE IS THE BIG PROBLEM! Says "exclusive access to the whole upper level suite & patio-nothing is shared." There is a FT resident living below & hidden! Reversed blackout shades facing the street from lower unit to hide it (check google view).*WARNING* There are 2 shared access points to rental. Patio (kitchen door) has an unlocked gate that goes right to the lower unit. Another locked door on gr floor w/ shared door from their unit to yours. We noticed an alarm sys so we asked host to use-she declined. We didn't discover this lower tenant until we heard a large bang/wall shaking @9pm. We looked outside & discovered the lower tenant. Blackout curtains permanently up on street side-art hanging over them inside-little suspect. All other windows open. We felt unsafe & lied to. Sold out city but we luckily found last hotel room & left. We reported to the host first thing next morning & explained we had to leave b/c we didn't feel safe(and was late!)& she immediately became combative/rude/accused me of lying saying I stayed the night. Asked if she would consider a partial refund for safety concerns/inaccurate descript & she refused/cont to harrass on chat/filed claim w/vrbo-host denied comp. Unprofessional all around!

October 2024 stay
Stayed in October, was good over all. Only thing was we had a group of 7 adults and found there was not enough cookware to make meals, you can get by with breakfast but if you want to make anything else it may be difficult for a big group. There was also minimal cleaning supplies, ended up running out of dish soap. Each bed had 2 pillows and some were poor quality, this was lacking for us. There are also tenants in the basement which we didn’t expect, which is fine but we were a little put off when we arrived. The host however was super communicative. The house is huge so we did not feel cramped at all which was nice and the location was very close to commercial drive and many main areas of Vancouver basically all within a 10-20min drive.

Overall, our stay was great. The place was clean and for the most part well appointed. It worked well for our family. Plenty of room and very comfortable. The kitchen could have been better appointed. There were only 4 glasses, but apartment sleeps 8. No kitchen towels, no dish washer pods, no garbage bags. This makes it difficult to clean up. Extreme spacious! 8 of us stayed, and we had TONS of room to eat, visit, relax. Bed was comfortable, there was a fan in the room to keep cool. It was the wrong time of year for us to utilize the deck as there was no heater out there, but the deck was massive and looked like ana amazing place to visit.
