Set behind the sand dunes of the beautiful Cape Liptrap Coastal Park and just a short walk to the pristine beaches of Venus Bay, Coastal Hideaway is my personal retreat—tucked amongst the tea trees in a peaceful, secluded pocket of Venus Bay’s popular First Estate.
This classic seaside escape is perfectly positioned, with an easy stroll to Venus Bay’s famous Surf Beach (Beach 3) and a relaxed 20-minute walk to the local shops and cafés. Whether you're seeking a romantic weekend, a family holiday, or time with close friends to reconnect and recharge, Coastal Hideaway is ready to welcome you.
Coastal Hideaway isn’t about flashy finishes or grand designs—it’s about a feeling the moment you arrive. Hidden behind a natural tea-tree tunnel and tucked just behind the dunes, it feels private, peaceful, and deeply connected to the landscape around it.
On arrival, you find a unique pathway flows through the tea-tree tunnel canopy, the overhead branches creating a sense of secrecy and calm. As you walk along, the house slowly reveals itself—with its wide front balcony inviting you to pause, breathe deeply, and take in the surrounding garden rooms, succulent gardens, and private spaces thoughtfully shaped for quiet moments.
From the balcony, the sound of waves crashing on the beach drifts through the trees, carried by a salty sea breeze. The mature garden offers plenty of hidden corners for children to explore and quiet spots for you to simply sit, read, and unwind.
Step inside to warm timber floors and a relaxed, open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, designed for easy coastal living. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, electric stove, large fridge, microwave, and all the essentials—perfect for preparing simple meals to share around the table.
The living room is cosy and welcoming, featuring a stereo, TV, and DVD player for relaxed evenings. A wood fireplace keeps you snug in winter, while a split-system air conditioner ensures comfort year-round.
There are two spacious bedrooms, each with a queen bed dressed in cosy doonas and extra blankets, and a bunk bed that's perfect for extra guests or little adventurers.
A simple, easy-access shower, separate toilet, and a small laundry with a washing machine and trough make rinsing off sandy towels and beach gear effortless.
For those needing to stay connected, there's a quiet study nook tucked into the first bedroom, away from the main living areas. Mobile hotspotting works reliably here—something I've often made use of myself.
You'll also find a collection of DVDs, plenty of books, and a few classic games—perfect for slow, golden afternoons that stretch into evening.
As dusk falls, keep an eye out for Wilber the wombat—a gentle, harmless soul who sometimes ambles quietly through the garden, reminding us all to slow down and savour the moment.
I've also planted a small succulent garden along the rear and side of the house—a little patch of green that always makes me smile.
Coastal Hideaway isn’t just a house—it’s a place where the days slow down, simple pleasures take centre stage, and time stretches out a little more kindly.
We welcome pets on pre-approval and kindly prefer just one pet per stay. While the property is not fully fenced, dogs can be safely contained on the large front balcony.
Bedding is provided, but please bring your own linen (sheets and pillowcases).
I'd love to share Coastal Hideaway with you.
