Guests are welcome to walk around the 5-acre property and check out all the animals from outside their fencing! (guided tours inside the enclosures are available upon request).
If you're looking for adventure, you're in luck! There is a hiking trail that starts right from the property; enjoy golfing at nearby courses, visit the nearby beaches of Carlsbad and Oceanside, and take a day trip to nearby tourist destinations such as The Safari Park, Legoland, SeaWorld, Sandiego Zoo, and Balboa Park. There is an excellent winery just a few minutes away. Also, Vista is the mecca of microbreweries, with many excellent ones nearby, including the famous Stone Brewery. There is also indoor skydiving nearby, indoor kart racing, trampoline park, and rock-climbing gyms. You can also take a drive along the coast to downtown San Diego or up to Orange County or LA.
Note: The swimming pool at this property does not have a child-proof barrier around it and, therefore, can be very dangerous to toddlers, small children, or anyone who can't swim. It is very important that you communicate this to everyone in your group, and that all adults take on the responsibility of being vigilant and protecting those most vulnerable. Please also inform the children of the dangers of drowning and to keep away from the pool when no adults are present. If you book this house, you assume full responsibility for yourself and your group in regard to this particular hazard.
PETTING ZOO: We have a beautiful little petting zoo just a one-minute walk away from this home that you and your family can enjoy during your stay; we have two mini horses, a giant tortoise, a llama, two kune-kune pigs, and several beautiful Nigerian dwarf goats (they all have names). All are very friendly as they've been around people their whole lives; we've had most of them since they were babies. During your stay, you're welcome to come over and visit them any time from outside their enclosures, or you can schedule a time with us to take you inside the enclosures and introduce you to all our furry babies; you'll be able to pet them, get pictures with them and give them treats, they love apples, strawberries, and lettuce. And if you have any small children under five years old, they might be able to get a tiny ride on our giant tortoise as he chases after his lettuce :)

You acknowledge that you understand this particular risk and that you assume all and full responsibility for yourself and everyone in your group, including daytime guests, for any accidents, injuries, illness, or death caused by the swimming pool or jacuzzi that may occur to you or anyone in your group during your stay.
You acknowledge that by making this reservation, you are accepting and agreeing to full responsibility for any and all risks, including but not limited to the hazard posed by the swimming pool and jacuzzi. You furthermore agree to hold harmless and indemnify the property owners and any workers or employees from any financial liabilities or lawsuits. You are expressly assuming the risk and responsibility of any harm arising from you and your guests' use of the premises.
The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of or damage to your personal belongings.
In the event the property experiences a failure of a system, including but not limited to TV, Internet/WiFi, HVAC (heat/AC), water, sewer, septic, electrical, propane, plumbing, mechanical, appliances, ventilating, or other structural systems, furnishings or amenities, owners will make every reasonable effort to promptly repair or replace the failed system or equipment. The property owners shall not be liable for damages, and no refunds will be given for such failures.
There is an information booklet in the house with lots of information on all the local shopping, dining, entertainment, breweries, wineries, airports, hospitals, etc.
The property is located within 5 to 15 minutes of excellent dining, shopping, nightlife, great micro-breweries, Sunshine Mountain Winery just down the street, 15 min to Stone Brewery, 15 min to Legoland, 20 min to the Safari Park (aka Wild Animal Park) 45 min from downtown San Diego, 20 min to the beach. Highway 78 is 5 min away, the 15 fwy is 10 min away, and the 5 fwy 15 min away.
Our maintenance guy comes over on Tuesdays to take the trash cans out to the street, so make sure you take all your trash out to the bins before 11 a.m. today. Trash trucks come by for pick up on Wednesday mornings. Our maintenance guy will come back on Wednesday afternoon to put the cans back.
On Wednesdays, our pool cleaning guy comes over, usually in the early afternoon.
POOL RULES:
* Glass in or near the pool or jacuzzi is not allowed.
* Running around the pool is not allowed.
* Screaming, yelling, or loud music is not allowed.
* Any noise (audible from outside) is not allowed past 9 pm.
* Please do not remove the pool cleaner/vacuum from the pool. If you do, be sure to disconnect the hose from the skimmer on the side of the pool, and make sure to pug it back in and put it in the water after you’re done using the pool for the day.
Pool heat: This pool is a “heated pool”, and like all heated pools, it runs on a solar system that turns on automatically when it’s sunny and when the air is warm (80°+) which is usually between May and October. The solar system will likely not run between November and April unless we have an odd warm day. Note that a very nice pool temperature is between 85° and 87° and outside air temperature needs to be very close to that or higher in order for the pool to reach and hold that temperature.
NOTE: At our discretion, we may charge a refundable damage deposit upfront before your check-in date, which may range between $300 to $1,000 depending on various factors such as: Which home you rent; How many homes you rent; The nature of your stay; The number of guests you plan on having -including daytime guests; The number of kids in your group; If you do not have a 5-star rating, or if you lack any prior history or reviews.
This refundable damage deposit will be refunded after the house has been cleaned and we've received our cleaning report from our cleaning team or within seven days from your check-out date. The reason for the grace period is that if there is damage that requires repairs, we need to have the time to get repair estimates.
