Aloha and Welcome! We are pleased to invite you to stay in our well-maintained, newly furnished villa in Waikoloa Beach Resort on the West Coast of the Big Island. This corner, ground floor unit comfortably sleeps up to 6 people with 3 bedrooms, and 2 full bathrooms, and covers 1407 sq ft. The Master bedroom has a Cal-king bed, Second bedroom has a Queen bed and third bedroom has 2 twin beds. Free WIFI, internet, and air conditioning are included! The fully equipped kitchen has just about everything you may need to prepare your next meal. Relax in the bright and airy feel of this spacious villa with the tastefully thought-out decor with our 'Surfs Up' theme. You can watch stunning mountain and garden views from the Lanai - which also has its own BBQ grill to use for your enjoyment.

Hali'i Kai Resort is a private, gated resort community that has unbeatable amenities. The oceanfront amenity center includes a multi-tiered lagoon-style saltwater pool with waterfall and jacuzzi, a fully equipped fitness center that overlooks the ocean, grills and dining area for your use, and the Ocean Club. The private Ocean Club is a poolside restaurant and bar where you can enjoy a happy hour, a gourmet meal, or sip on a Mai Tai while you watch the whales in season. Tennis courts and basketball court are located a short walk away.
The Waikoloa Beach Resort contains two world-class golf courses, two exceptional shopping centers (Queen's Shops and King's Shops) with luxury movie cinema and nightly entertainment most evenings, a selection of superb dining choices, and Anaeho'omalu Beach, the gorgeous white-sand beach with Lava Lava Beach Club. All this just a short walk from your tropical resort villa in Hali'i Kai.

***The Hali'i Kai Resort requires a resort fee of $20/night per unit to be paid at check in. As of April 1, 2023 the resort fee rate will be $25/night per unit that will need to be paid at check in. The fee allows guests to the Ocean Club, amenities, and parking pass. The Halii Kai front office is open every day from 10am – 6pm.

Amazing Stay on the Big Island
My family had the BEST stay in your condo! The condo is beautiful, spacious, immaculately clean, and has everything you need for a fabulous vacation in Hawaii- beach chairs, an umbrella, hats, towels, cooler bags, boogie boards, and even a couple of putters for messing around on the practice green. The kitchen has literally everything you need for cooking- we like to make a lot of our own food, so that was wonderful. The back patio is shaded almost the whole day, which is lovely and having a personal bbq was a treat. We contacted the property manager early on with a quick question and he was very friendly and helpful. The pool, hot tub, fitness facility and beach club were top notch too. Finally, the condo is close to all kinds of great beaches and golf courses! I would come back in a heartbeat and recommend this place to everyone!

This condo was lovely to stay in, worked well for myself and 4 kids. It was a bit far from things but we didn’t mind driving. My only concern was the lack of response from the manager. After sending several messages about different things, I never got a response. I’m hoping this was a “one-off”, otherwise it was great!

The condo was beautiful and it was hard to leave. We had 6 adults and we had plenty of space. We enjoyed watching the turkey outside. We unfortunately didn't get to try out the pool because we spent so much time at the beach. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Perfect!
I can't say enough good things about our experience. This is the best VRBO we have stayed in. The unit was immaculate and had every amenity you could want (tons of towels, sheets, extra blankets, beach chairs, tennis rackets, snorkel gear, etc.). Everything was updated and well decorated. There is a grill on the patio which was very convenient. Loved the location - the pool, workout facility and restaurant on site made it feel like we were staying at a resort. Communication was very easy and prompt. We will definitely be back and have already recommended it to our friends.

A Perfect Rental
What a wonderful find! Surf’s Up was half the cost of a fancy hotel and provided at least double the space. There were so many amenities to create the comfort of home with a splash of high end luxury. We cook a lot and found everything we needed in the kitchen. The rec closet (which we affectionately referred to as ‘The Room of Requirement’) had everything we needed for the beach, snorkeling and a picnic hike. The beds were comfortable and everyone slept well. It was great being able to do laundry conveniently. We highly recommend LUVA and this unit and will definitely return!

We were extremely pleased with the unit. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the availability of fresh fish and a on the island allowed and a grill in the unit allowed us to eat most dinners at home. There was a closet filled with beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys/balls that was very helpful for us. In unit washer/dryer was great for our family. The location has easy access to a great pool and is a good base to explore the full island. We had a great week.

Spacious and clean. Perfect for family getaway.
Clean, well cared for property. Beds were firm and comfortable. Unit was a little tricky to locate initially: Google Maps directed us to the wrong cluster of units. However, the property manager was very helpful in guiding us to the building. Check in at the main gatehouse was a little slow and tedious. (Be prepared to provide Hawaii Safe Travels documents.) Pool was spectacular and offered beautiful sunset views. The pool area was very crowded with families done of the time, but we did visit over the Thanksgiving holiday week. Distance to shops and restaurants was reasonable. We walked it a couple of times (30 min walk), and drove when we were pressed for time (5 min drive). Overall, Great stay, and we'd definitely consider returning!

AMAZING Stay - Can't wait to come back!
Our family of 5 (Children 12, 3 and 1) had an awesome stay here at Surfs Up. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, however the single beds are a little high for little people. We ended up putting a mattress on the floor for our 3 year old. The master bathroom is big enough to fit a crib which is where our 1 year old slept (it has a fan) and is really dark. We really appreciated the closet of activities and beach gear. The tennis courts are a 4 minute walk and the pool is a 10 minute walk. The pool is perfect for kids as there are 2 super shallow (2 ft and 3 ft) swimming areas to play. Beaches (Hapuna, Mauna Kea) are a 10 minute drive and the shops and grocery store are 5-8 minute drive away. Everything was close by and easy to get to! The kitchen was FULLY stocked with appliances (including a Ninja Blender, multiple coffee machines, serving dishes and non stick frying pans) and basic spices. The Fridge is large and as well as pantry space to store food for the week. It was a pleasure communicating with the Adriana, she was excellent at reminders, making sure we had everything we needed and was always prompt with her responses. We used BabyQuip (recommended by Adriana) for baby gear which I highly recommend. (High Chair, bed Rails, Baby Monitor and sound machine) I have already recommended this place to family and friends thinking about coming to the Big Island in the future. We will 100% be back and looking forward to staying here again! Thank you for everything! Mahalo!

Wonderful Stay in Paradise
Beautiful condo with all the amenities. Our second stay in the same condo over the past two years, we will be coming back for a third and more. Pro-tip, make sure you look in the bottom drawers of the dressers for extra towels, happened to find them on our last day. The Luva staff was great and extremely responsive. You’ll love it here.

Indescribable Hawaii
The rental unit was gorgeous and spacious and we were all thrilled when we arrived, as it met all of our expectations. Check-in was easy and we had codes for the front entry and gates. We had an issue with the shower in master bath because we stupidly could not figure out that you had to pull the handle out first (cold was hot and hot was cold)…but after a quick phone call to Adrianna at Luva, we realized our mistake and all was well. The MB was huge and the closet space was more than adequate to hide all the suitcases and organize clothes. We walked up to pool at the Ocean Club (short walk on beautifully landscaped property) and watched the sun set from the lava rocks. It was just spectacular. The rental had everything we needed for the beach! Chairs and coolers and plenty of towels. I suggest Hapuna Beach for your first beach adventure…stunning…but get there early to find parking! We also rented snorkel equipment from Snorkel Bobs. They were awesome and helped fit my older son with RX goggles. We hit Costco and Walmart before we arrived and bought essentials, but the unit was stocked with plastic containers and tons of dishware and cookware. Queen’s Market is close by, but pricey. I preferred Island Gourmet for fresh sandwiches and wine/beer. We even used the grill to cook fish my son’s caught in deep sea fishing trip! The AC was perfect and comfortable, but I recommend opening the windows and slider when you have a nice refreshing wind. The beds were comfy and each room was well appointed and welcoming (mahalo ) Everyone was helpful and welcoming and we enjoyed the beautiful salt water pool and yummy Lavaflows and food at club. We had a spectacular time at Surf’s Up! We have family on the Big Island and got to see things most visitors might miss because we had access to 4x4 vehicles and local knowledge of area. Venture over to Alaka Falls and explore north side of Island. I felt like I would see a T-Rex come bursting through the rainforest. It was like another world Hawaii…indescribable! Take it all in and relax…this is the way.

This is an outstanding and well cared for rental unit. The pride of ownership is displayed by the condition and amount of artwork, kitchen utensils, beach toys and quality bedding (sheets). The master shower door needs a good scrubbing, I was unable to get to this chore because I didn't have the required products to accomplish this task (I recommend any of the commercial products available as Mr Clean or Windex didn't do the job) and kit will be an easy task. Also one of my traveling companions has a back injury and found that the foam padding a hindrance to a sound sleep. We simply removed the foam.... problem solved! Adriana really impressed me. She is factual, prompt, level headed as even tempered. For example when the combo lock failed to operate one morning SHE quickly came over, introduced herself, changed the batteries to the lock all on the spur of the moment. That's what I call service. Mahalo, Adriana. We have been coming to the Islands for the last seven years and this is by fat the nicest and quietest unit we have rented. I would rate this unit as 'outstanding'.
