We had a wonderful time during our weekend here in late September! Washington Island was beautiful and we enjoyed the Cherry Train tour, the ferry to Rock Island, checking out the local restaurants and simply hanging out at the cabin by the fire/fireplace. I'm glad I spoke with the owner and got a few tips about the island - pay attention to the ferry times and be mindful that restaurants start closing around 7pm. Also, the grocery store on the island is a little pricey, so I'd recommend bringing your own staples if you plan on cooking at the cabin, so you only have to pickup a few things. The view from the house, porch, or down by the water was simply spectacular! We enjoyed a fire every night and the sound of the waves was so peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was a little musty when we first arrived, but it is an older home, so that is probably expected. We provided our own sheets and towels, and I'd recommend taking your own pillows. The kitchen was well stocked with all the tools you need to cook/prep your meals - we ate breakfast here everyday and cooked dinner one night and ate out on the porch. We truly enjoyed our weekend here!
