Waterfront Lake Erie Getaway!

We would like to share our hidden lakefront getaway with you and your family and friends! This is located on a 17acres property with only 2 other houses on it. Feel quiet, secluded and relaxed while only being minutes from all the local amenities Erie has to offer! Full size in ground heated swimming pool on the property is currently under construction. Shades beach and boat launch is less than 2 miles away and Shorewood Beach and boat launch is about 1/2 mile away!

Great space and view, listing could be more accurate
We stayed for a week in June. The view CANNOT be beat, simply amazing. The extra land was great for the kids to run around and have fun. There was a snack basket and some little games left for us which was very thoughtful. We were allowed to host family who were vacationing nearby with no issues. I did have a few issues, one was that it took two days before the nauseating smell of cleaner went away. It was so strong!! Air conditioning is not central, there was one large unit downstairs which was fine, but upstairs there was one tiny unit in one bedroom and that was it. It got brutally hot no matter how many windows were open or fans were going. The biggest disappointment was the pool. When I asked if it was going to be ready for our visit (this was maybe two weeks before we got there), we were told it was being filled the next week, so hopefully. When we got there, the pool was clearly not even finished being constructed so either the property manager was terribly misinformed or lying. That was a big bummer as it was something we were hoping to use with our whole family. Overall, nothing was a deal-breaker (A/C almost though...). It is very peaceful and quiet, there's a lot of room to take advantage of, and the sunsets were so incredible every night.

Golf week getaway
This house could be really special if the owner would fix it up. It’s in a private setting overlooking Lake Erie on a nice piece of property. Inside is fine except for the bathrooms. The commode on the first floor is very loose on the floor. The two bathrooms on the second floor should be redesigned to make them more user friendly. The flower beds next to the house have more weeds than flowers with alot of spiders in the weeds and on the windows. The bank overlooking the lake could use a good trimming for a better view. A little TLC and alot of elbow grease would make a huge improvement.

Listing is inaccurate!! False Advertisement!! Very Misleading listing!!
The property listing states there is a hot tub. I communicated with the host. She stated the hot tub is "broken" something is "wrong with it". She said the hot tub is in the "pool house". So I entered the unlocked pool house, which was a total mess, garbage and tools everywhere, to find a "brand new" hot tub sitting there. The problem with the hot tub is that it has NEVER been installed. The water ect. has NEVER been hooked up. The listing should be updated immediately. Having a hot tub is one of our groups requirements when going on an overnight trip because one of our friends isn't able to get around much and she greatly enjoys a hot tub. Either remove the hot tub item from the listing or change it to "inoperable hot tub". This is false advertising and needs to be updated immediately!

Can’t beat the view
Wonderful, charming house with a killer view of the lake. Deer and bald eagles were frequent visitors. Close to other small swim beaches and adorable town of North East. Relaxing, restful setting with lots of yard space for the kids.

The property was beyond beautiful. The house was a cute country house, with plenty of room and charm. It had everything needed for a secluded stay. But the very soul of the place is the view. Its breathtaking and the very reason we plan to make a return stay soon!

The potential for a great spot
TL:DR is that this property is right on the edge of being extremely nice - however, it’s a bit rough around the edges, lacks pest control, and has amenities listed on the page that are not actually at the home. The location is fantastic, quiet and has great beach house vibes. For my longer review, it will be a bit more sporadic. Starting out with the biggest blunder that upset me the most was this property was listed with a hot tub but was not actually there for us to use. When I called the manager of the property, I explained we were promised a hot tub based on the listing and she simply said that there wasn’t one at the house regardless of what was posted on VRBO. She did not apologize or offer anything and it just left me with a bad feeling. Other things about the house were nice. Lots of parking (even though it was a bit tough to navigate the driveway loop), a fantastic view, snacks/coffee were there for when we arrived and it had a great homey vibe from the moment we walked in the door. Once we were inside we noticed things were a bit rough around the edges. There were only 2 A/C units, one in a single bedroom and a large one downstairs. The upstairs bedrooms without A/C units did get very hot. Pest control was virtually non existent. Lots of spiders and other bugs running around. Also one of the shower curtains was moldy. I could go on about other things but overall this could be a great spot by fixing some little things and updating the listing to be more accurate.
