„This is our second time staying and hosting a family gathering. The house has beautiful historical details, lots of super clean bedrooms and big rooms with comfortable furniture for a family gathering. I grew up nearby but now live out of state and it is great to find a nice centrally located place to host family events. The owners were very responsive and provided what was needed to make our stay special. Thank you for sharing this Victorian beauty with us. “

„The house was as advertised! Older. Convenient location. Clean. Had a couple of minor issues… smelled of smoke upon arrival but once the air purifier was turned on, smell went away. One of the door frames were broke which hendered the bedroom door to stay closed. “

„We were a group of 13, and this house was awesome. Plenty of sleeping space and something you don't get with homes with 6+ bedrooms--every bedroom was nice, had a closet, window, etc. Two living spaces is nice. Great views from any room. Very well stocked kitchen. Highly recommend this home!!“

„This house was perfect for a quiet and relaxing week with the family…. We were close to Ann Arbor and were able to go see a U of M softball game and tour the campus. It’s a beautiful 45 minute drive to U of M. We spent most days fishing at Wamplers lake which was only 20 minutes away. The house has plenty of room for friends and family to visit and is set up perfectly for a family bbq with a large deck with a table and umbrella. Everything is there that you need to cook. „My friends and I stayed at the Golden Retreat in February 2025. We were looking for a place close to metro Detroit, on the water & affordable and this place ticked all the boxes. Place was cozy, comfortable and had all of the basic necessities we needed for our getaway. We loved painting in the sunroom after breakfast everyday and even ventured out onto the frozen lake one day. It was fun watching people snowmobiling or cross country skiing on the lake. „This cabin was great. Awesome location, so much to do in the area and on the surrounding land. The Wabash trail and Tiffin River are right out the back door. The house is very well equipped for all cooking. Great living area with plenty of seating and comfortable beds. We will certainly be back!“

„Nice property but we did have some issues. To be fair, the host did their best to correct them.The biggest issue is that the house is on a well and the drinking water was terrible. Be sure to bring drinking water with you.The second issue was that the house had very poor water pressure, probably do to the well. Be sure to check with the host before booking to make sure this issue is fixed!Overall we had a very positive experience and the host was great to work with.“
