Brand new to our collection for 2021, The Alby is a well situated holiday home in the heart of Whitby. Sleeping up to ten guests across four bedrooms, this three storey house makes the perfect family staycation or group getaway. With walking distance of everything Whitby has to offer, The Alby provides the perfect base for exploring the North Yorkshire coastline.
The Space:
If you’re looking for a self-catering stay, The Alby has a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances and cookware so you can easily prepare meals. Also sharing this space is a breakfast bar where you can enjoy a morning coffee in peace or socialise with your party while food is prepared.
The house also has a cosy open plan living and dining area. With two comfy sofas and a flat screen TV with Sky, this is the ideal place to retreat after a busy day. The dining area includes a wooden dining table and matching benches.
On the first floor, you’ll find two bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a king size bed and en suite, whilst the second bedroom features a double. The family bathroom has a freestanding bathtub with handheld shower, WC and vanity unit.
Take the stairs up to the second floor and you’ll find a further two bedrooms. The ideal setup for families, one bedroom is a double and the final room sleeps four guests with two single beds and single bunk beds.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There is parking for up to two cars on a private driveway at the property.
The Neighborhood:
The centre of Whitby, and Whitby Harbour are just a short walk away from The Alby, so it’s ideal if you want to experience what life is like living by the sea.
The area is famous for the quality of its fish and chip restaurants, and there are plenty of places where you can sink your teeth into a fresh catch. When you fancy a drink, you’ll find a variety of bars as well as pubs and shops in the local area.
Whitby is also famous for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’. You’ll find plenty of sites near the property with historic interest relating to the story. The main inspiration can be found at the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. In particular, Dalby Forest and Guisborough Forest, just a short drive away and they both have various beautiful walking and cycling routes to explore.
Getting Around:
The Alby is just a short walk to the town centre, Whitby harbour and the bus and train station. Villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
