Beautiful Estate Nestled in the Blueridge Near Bluemont Wine Country

Visit and stay at this beautiful 1896 French country estate nestled in Blueridge Mountains wine country just 50 miles west of Washington D.C.. Wrought iron front entrance gates, walking paths through meadows and forest to a natural pond, 50 acres of prairie and old hardwoods atop Blueridge Mountain Road, a large stone fire pit, Adirondacks chairs and patio daybeds looking toward the Shenandoah valley, flower and vegetable gardens and raised beds, large outdoor patio spaces and a 100 year old stone Manor House make this the perfect location for family events, wedding parties, retreats or other small gatherings. Not a venue for weddings, this is rather the location for smaller gatherings such as the wedding party/family residence, or the family rehearsal dinner / post-wedding brunch. Perfect for author, artist or small retreats, weekend hunting or fishing excursions, or a special family get-away. An eclectic antique furniture, art and book collection, an easel in the sunroom, a vinyl record collection, tastefully decorated work spaces, and lots of privacy make this a wonderful retreat. Sleeping 8-10, the property also includes an Old Schoolhouse sleeping another 2 people and a Country French Cottage sleeping 4. The entire property is bookable by contacting the Owner/Manager to discuss schedule. Early planning recommended as this venue fills quickly. This is NOT a venue for college parties or other wild events. Owner manages the property closely.

Shared property experience
A beautiful property in a communal setting within its gate. Contrary to what is communicated on the VRBO website, other guests were also staying on the property while we were renting. Since we were traveling with our dog and were concerned with car traffic and open gates, it took some extra communication with other guests to assure the safety of our dog during our stay.

Family weekend
Beautiful estate with comfortable bedrooms and plenty of space to relax and enjoy family time. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were super comfortable. The property was well maintained and decorated and gave us the perfect place to spend a family weekend together. Great location to visit Bear Chase Brewery, Bluemont Vineyard & Bear’s Den scenic overlook & hiking trails.

Beautiful grounds
This was a great spot for our family. We enjoyed being outside on the property and at some of the nearby hiking trails and breweries. No need to bring any supplies, every detail seemed to be taken care of. We will definitely go back if we are in the area.

Lovely home in the mountains of Virginia
We enjoyed our stay at Teri’s lovely home and was happy she had even decorated for Christmas. The property was very quiet and the home was clean and even offered toiletries in the bath rooms. The only small inconvenience was the wifi was poor reception with our I-pads and phones but that can be expected in a mountainous region.

Amazing!!!
This was an early Christmas gathering with our kids and grandchildren. We felt as if we were in our own home. Not a detail was missed so comfortable. The owner even set up a Christmas tree with decor as well as outside lights.To top it off we left this morning on our travel back to Rosemary Beach Florida with 4 inches of snow wish we had one more day to build a snowman!!! My friends and I had the most wonderful time at this beautiful estate. Everything about the home was perfect. We couldn’t have found a better place for our Friends getaway. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a private getaway in a beautiful setting. The home has everything you would need for a perfect stay. Great Estate for Groom’s Family Base Camp
We just hosted 15 members of our family for our son’s wedding in Purceville, VA over the Labor Day Weekend. High Meadows provided a beautiful backdrop for the occasion and it was well suited for such a large gathering. Other than the bathroom/shower situation, which our guest were able to manage with relative ease, everything was perfect. Our hostess, Teri, was absolutely awesome to work with. I booked more than a year in advance so had plenty of opportunities to interact with her as I made plans and adjusted for our guests’ needs. She was very responsive and accommodating. The location is great too, near wineries, breweries, as well as great shopping and dining. I am thinking we will plan another trip when we can slow down and enjoy the property more.

a perfect 4 days in a storybook setting!
This property was perfect for our visit to Northern VA for our daughter's wedding! It felt like we were visiting the English countryside, which was appropriate, since our daughter had been living in London for the past year. The house (the Manor) had so much charm and character. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It felt like a dream waking up there in the morning, and heading outside to walk the property, including through the meadow. The weather was perfect, and cool enough for us to enjoy dinner outside, under the lights. Even though it was close to the places we needed to go, including Leesburg, it felt like we were in our own little world. I can't remember the last time I was so sad to leave a Vrbo, and I hope we make it back! My husband did all the booking & communicating with the owner; she was pleasant to work with and quick to respond.

Beautiful country home
We absolutely loved our time in Bluemont at this beautiful country home. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and relax and we made good use of the hammock and fire pit! We really appreciated that our little dog could come along too! The beds were incredibly comfortable and the home was well stocked with cookware, wine glasses, etc. my only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!

Lovely stay with family
Beautiful property that takes you back in time, yet with all the modern amenities. We enjoyed baking and cooking meals in the well-equipped kitchen, eating together on the spacious dining area, playing board games and taking walks. The sun room has beautiful views of gorgeous sunsets. Raven Rocks hike is nearby for those up for an adventure.

Excellent weekend
We are a group of four couples and the house was perfect for us. We took advantage of the numerous nearby hiking trails, breweries and wineries. Everyone was very happy with their accommodations and the well stocked kitchen. Definitely recommend the property and the area. We’ve been having this annual weekend getaway for 18 years and everyone agreed this is the favorite house to date.

Perfect Stay in mountains of VA
Our week long stay was amazing, thanks to Teri, her husband and this beautiful property and the surroundings. This peaceful home allows for relaxation, comfy nights sleep, delicious food prepared in the well stocked kitchen, gorgeous views. House was clean and comfortable as can be. Pictures were accurate, the house was even larger than we thought. Plenty of spaces for togetherness and solitude for our group. We were lucky enough to meet the owners, who were delightful, full of interesting knowledge, and very accommodating. Easy communication, check in/out was a breeze, they supplied what we asked for, and provided all kinds of extras for a wonderful stay. Teri even went so far as to locating a misplaced item we may have left behind. They are the consummate hosts and know how to provide a lovely place to build memories!! There are smaller cottages on the grounds for additional rentals if you need extra lodging or flexibility in number of guests, some were rented during our stay but we were never disturbed in any way but other renters presence. Just a fabulous property. Many activities in the area for all kinds of fun, in all kinds of weather. Highly recommend, we hope to be back!!

Beautiful house and property and the perfect size for 4 old friends to get together for a relaxing weekend. Perfect Family Wedding Weekend
It would be impossible to come up with enough superlatives to describe this property, and its gracious host. We booked the property as a family base for our son’s nearby wedding, and as the place to host the rehearsal dinner. It was the perfect choice—beautifully decorated, room for people to gather, a beautiful deck under wisteria vines and lights where we set up tables, plenty of room to roam the lovely grounds, the fire pit enjoyed by our guests at the end of the evening. Really, it could not have been better. And, while I don’t wish to embarrass our host, she was truly outstanding—giving us tips for local help, and also offering to come to our rescue in unusual circumstances. She was everything you would wish a host to be. We wanted things to be just right for our son and beautiful daughter in law, and High Meadows was a huge part of making that so. Both gorgeous and homey. We’re already looking for reasons to go back!
