A spacious historic home with plenty of beds, space to gather, and memories to make. The sunlit, large, homey kitchen has three ovens, a giant island, and all of the cooking gadgets you could hope for! Plenty of space to spread out on the first floor, including a game room for rainy days. Walkable neighborhood by the Penobscot River with nature trails across the street. There are four bedrooms on the second floor. The large yard has a nice fire pit and lawn games.
• The space
Historic charm meets modern convenience. Many original details with upgraded systems. A kitchen with nearly every tool you can imagine and a large island. Our pantry is stocked with all the dry goods you might need for cooking. We have glassware, china, tableware, and silverware, along with a large variety of serving platters, dishes, and bowls. The formal dining room is a great place for dinners, with a historic table that seats 10 or more. The dining room and formal living room with original fireplace are separated by a set of gorgeous pocket doors, giving you a large open indoor space.
There is one bathroom with a full bath, and one half bath (two bathrooms total). The hot water is on-demand so you will never run out! Five separate sleeping areas on the first and second floors can accommodate up to 11.
The large yard has a fire pit with plenty of outdoor furniture to socialize outside. We also have a lobster cooker and grill for all your BBQ needs. Quiet hours in our village are from 10 PM to 7 AM.
Please note - while we and many of our guests appreciate the historic charm of the house, if you prefer perfectly modern things, straight walls, and everything to be perfect, we recommend that you stay in a hotel. This home is not without its quirks because it’s over 200 years old. It's also a lived-in family home, so you will find family pictures and personal belongings in some of the rooms. You may even come across a spare Lego or two (no matter how hard we try, we can't seem to ever get all the little buggers; apparently, they multiply on their own).
