TRY OUR 3 DAY 4 NIGHT VISIT THE OLD WEST TRAILS
Walk the streets where Mattie Silks of the Denver red lights district spent time with her Beau who lived, outlawed and foot raced in Wray. Or visit the Battle of Beecher Island site where one of the last major engagements with Chief Roman Nose and his band was fought. Spend time at the Wray Museum that has an exhibit of the bison antiquus dig from the famous local Jones Miller site on loan from the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Names you will likely recognize on our three day self guided journey to western Kansas, western Nebraska and eastern Colorado include BUFFALO BILL CODY, CHIEF ROMAN NOSE, LT. GEORGE CUSTER, ANNIE OAKLEY, LT FRED BEECHER AND MORE.
Birders flock to see the dance of the greater prairie chicken in the spring and hunters come in the fall for the upland game hunts. The last weekend of July celebrates Wray Daze, a family favorite with free bbq's, fun rides, games and music. That is followed the next week by the PRAs sponsored annual rodeo in nearby Yuma. Grab your pole and head out to nearby Stalker Lake where past record sunfish along with trophy sized bass have been caught.
Take a drive in the country breathing in the fresh air, play a round of golf at our municipal course or spend some time at the indoor driving range and upscale bar at the Back Nine, enjoy some delicious food at 4th & Main or just relax in the cities aquatic pool (or our charming back yard).
Our home has a patio surrounded by trees and bushes that provide a perfect place to grill and quiet evenings to view the stars and enjoy the beauty of our property and the quiet neighborhood. You may even be visited by the deer and wild turkeys that frequent our location.
