After 20h of traveling, we managed to find the place. It is hidden inside a building at the 30th floor, without any clear indication. Nobody spoke English. We get there, the confirmed reservation did not apply, and they were at full capacity. On the phone with Expedia. Nightmare. They start yelling at us to leave, the Manager's wife was a total wench. We were polite. Finally manager walks us to a nearby hotel and leaves us there to deal with it. Expedia again, which agrees to pay for the rooms. Hotel never heard of Expedia, and doesn't accept any payment not connected to Bank of China. Mind you, hours on the phone, bill will be through the roof. Finally we are directed to another location. We get in a cab, but despite written address given we are dropped off at Wanda Hotel. Front desk calls to where Expedia had redirected us, they have no reservation either... group members are passed out on lobby couch... So I have to get people to a bed for another 12h of upcoming travel... and pay for rooms at Wanda, hoping to get at least 4h of sleep. Hoping Expedia can fix this, we are not responsible for this marasm, nor the extra costs. Note that grabbing a cheapo hotel isn't an option, as experienced on the way back, foreigners are only accepted at certain hotels!!!
