Historisch bedeutet auch schiefe Fußböden, hohe Stufen und keine Doppelfenster, was tagsüber doch zu einer hohen Lärmbelästigung führt, da der Weg zu einem großen Parkplatz am Haus vorbeigeht. Nachts ist es ruhig. Das Haus ist größtenteils sauber. Die Möblierung in den Schlafzimmern ist auf das Nötigste beschränkt, so gibt es kaum Stühle, um Kleidung abzulegen. „Quando siamo arrivati al cottage verso le 18.00 non si è presentato nessuno per darchi la chiave. Abbiamo chiesto ad una vicina che ha cercato si aiutarci. Alla fine, verso le 21.15 hanno rintracciato la donna delle pulizie che ci ha prestato la sua chiave.
