The Seda Lio is a really beautiful hotel directly at a beautiful natural beach with trees for natural shadow which is much better than the shadow made by umbrellas. The complete building is very nice including the pool, the restaurant, the lobby, the gym, the spa area and the garden. Also our room was very nice with much space and a clean bathroom. The breakfast was included so we used it daily. It is a good breakfast buffet with a wide variety of choices. You have boiled eggs, sunny side ups and scrambled eggs which are cooked in advance and can be taken from the buffet. Additionally there is a chef who is cooking you fresh omelettes. They offer fresh plain yoghurt or with fruits. Also fresh bread, different cheeses and fruits are available. Additionally there are some warm offerings like sausages, fries chicken and other stuff. When you have this breakfast daily it is getting a little bit boring but you it is a good buffet. Unfortunately the service is a little bit slow and unprofessional. The employees really have no self motivation. A real leader seems to be missing. One example: After arriving at the airport of El Nido all passengers of the flight were picked up by their hotels in time. Only a family and us were forgotten by the employees of Seda Lio. Since there are not so many landings per day and Seda Lio is locates less than 10 minutes away from the airport it should not be very hard to be in time. The WiFi is not nearly good enough for such a hotel. No WiFi in

Pros: - nice rooms, the deluxe room is a bit bigger than the superior room and has a table for four persons. Fridge, safety deposit box and 2 queen sized beds. Our bathroom had a bath tub. - decent food mostly for asian taste with a big choice of meals. - excellent service and helpful staff. - some indoor and outdoor activities like waterpark, golf, table tennis Cons: - there is only one big disadvantage why we probably will not return to Astoria: it was not allowed to swim at the beach during our whole stay! The reason which the guard told me: jellyfish. Actually i haven't seen any but that is not the point. There was no official information of the hotel why the beach is closed and how long it would take. The resort is about 1 hour drive away from Puerto Princesa. Astoria did not offer any alternatives for transportation to another beach. So we spent a lot of money and effort organizing transportation and beach activities for ourselves. I did not come to Palawan not for swimming in a pool! Calm sea, nice weather and swimming is not allowed. No information, no apologies, no alternative. That is a no-go for me. Thank you for reading.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was good. Airport transfer worked well. The rooms are in need of some renovations. There were two visible cracks in the wall. The furniture and paint looked pretty used. The pool was pretty nice, but it was lacking shade.
