Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - Ouarzazate - Tansikht - Alnif - Merzouga
Start your adventure by crossing the impressive High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the beauty of Berber villages along the way. Pause to visit the UNESCO world heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for its ancient kasbahs and Hollywood film sets.
After lunch, continue your journey to Ouarzazate, known as the Gateway to the Sahara, where you'll experience its cinematic charm. Then, travel to Tansikht along the Draa River, where you'll discover palm groves and ancient Kasbahs. This area was once part of the old caravan route, trading gold from South Africa for sugar and salt, before reaching the dunes of Merzouga.
End your day with dinner and a peaceful night at a Desert Merzouga Lodge, located at the base of the desert, preparing for the adventures ahead.
Day 2: Merzouga - Overnight, Camel Trekking, Sandboarding and more activities
On the second day of our Moroccan desert tour, we'll immerse ourselves in the wonders of Merzouga. After breakfast at the lodge, you'll have the chance to take a refreshing swim in the pool. Enjoy some free time to explore the desert's offerings and indulge in the serene atmosphere before our overnight stay at the Desert camp, complete with sunset and sunrise camel rides, followed by a delightful dinner.
There's a plethora of activities to choose from, including visiting nomad families with 4x4 who will graciously welcome us into their tents for tea and a taste of the renowned 'Berber Pizza'. Additionally, adventurous souls can opt for quad biking, buggy riding across the dunes, and sandboarding, though these activities will be at your own expense.
As the day winds down, return to the lodge for refreshing and prepare for a romantic sunset camel ride climb up the dunes. Following dinner, prepare for a mesmerising Berber spectacle with traditional reels. Dinner and overnight accommodation awaits you at the Desert camp.
DAY 3 Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Ouarzazate - Marrakech
Watch another starkly different sunrise, this time over a sea of rolling dunes. You can even see the sunrise from the top of one of the highest dunes of Merzouga. Eat a typical breakfast and return to the lodge for freshenup, where you will meet your driver. You leave to Erfoud, another city known for fossils. you will cross the Tafilalt oasis, a short break to see a fascinating and ancient system of irrigation. Enjoy lunch and some free time at the striking Todgha Gorges, one of the most beautiful tourist sites in southern Morocco.
After some free time for lunch, you’ll continue on to Marrakech in the afternoon through the High Atlas Mountains, ending your 3-day tour from Marrakech to Marrakech.
