Das erwartet dich

Du verlässt Inverness und reist über Loch Ness zur Isle of Skye. Loch Ness ist das volumenmäßig größte Loch der britischen Inseln und auch eines der tiefsten. Sie ist weltweit für ihr schwer fassbares Ungeheuer bekannt und beherbergt eine der kultigsten Burgen Schottlands: Urquhart Castle.
Besuche die Fairy Pools. Geh auf dem Pfad, der dich zu den Pools führt, und genieße ein Bad mit den Feen. Als Nächstes besuchst du die Talisker Single Malt Scotch Distillery in Carbost. Du gehst durch das Besucherzentrum (nicht auf der Tour) und probierst, falls verfügbar, einen der feinen Whiskeys, die hier hergestellt werden.
Setze deine Reise zur Isle of Skye fort und besuche das kleine Dorf Portree für eine Nachmittagspause. Portree ist ein kleines Hafendorf und die Hauptstadt von Skye.
Bevor du zurück nach Inverness fährst, kannst du noch das mächtige Eilean Donan Castle besichtigen, das auf einer eigenen Insel liegt und eines der meistfotografierten Schlösser Schottlands ist.

I had a great time- thank you so much, Rob; the sights were phenomenal, yet you also made the day wonderful with your sense of humor, and all of the pertinent information as to the community, and environmental elements involved. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather and got some great photos/views everywhere we went. We visited in early April so there were TONS of yellow flowers along the mountains and countrysides. We were told all of the bright purple Heather starts growing in May, so I'm sure the colors will be even more magical during summertime. Our driver was very informative the entire trip, and then played music for half the ride back to the hotel once everyone was exhausted lol. The only surprise was that the fairy pools are a mile hike up a mountain trail, so get ready for a little exercise! Honestly it was a nice way to stretch and move after a long drive, and then it helps knock you out for the ride back, haha. Enjoy!

The scenery was stunning throughout, from the serene Fairy Pools to the dramatic Quiraing landscapes. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories and bits of history that added a lot of depth to the experience. The stops were well-timed, giving us plenty of opportunities to explore and take photos without feeling rushed.

Carol was a fabulous guide and astute driver on the curvy and often narrow road ways between Inverness and Isle of Skye. We loved hearing about life in the northern Highlands and taking in the gorgeous scenery along our route. I would have liked a little more time in Portree as we only had 1 hour that breezed by quickly. Visiting local shops and having time to enjoy a meal was my way to do in that amount of time so we opted to shop and stick to a few snacks we packed with us. The van did not have working USB ports at any seat, so most of us ran out of battery before the day was over. A family with 2 elementary age kiddos did not bring portable activities or snacks along so the children got a bit frustrated in the last 2 hours of our ride back. I wished I had an extra sandwich or cookie to share! All in all, a wonderful way to see more of the countryside without renting a car.

I liked the detailed history and our guide was brilliant. However, I was a bit disappointed as the pictures uploaded for the tour was different from what we actually saw and there’s pictures about the Kilt rocks but this tour doesn’t go there.

Fairy pools and feeding highland cows were great. The walk to the fairy pools is strenuous and long. Tour improved substantially once the driver’s boss left the trip.
