Das erwartet dich

Fahre von Melbournes Southern Cross Station ab und fahre über den Bass Coast Highway direkt nach Phillip Island mit Panoramablick auf Western Port und French Island.

Wenn du bei San Remo auf Phillip Island ankommst, ist dein erster Halt Seal Rocks und das Nobbies Centre, wo du auf der Promenade spazieren gehst und die Aussicht auf die Mornington Peninsula vom westlichsten Punkt von Phillip Island genießt (während der Wintersonnenwende kann dies entfallen).

Von September bis Ende März hast du außerdem die Möglichkeit, die Stadt Cowes zu erkunden & oder die örtliche Schokoladenfabrik.

Auf Phillip Island kannst du eine Pinguin-Tour machen. Jeden Abend, kurz nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit, watscheln die kleinsten Pinguine der Welt an Land, nachdem sie den Tag auf dem Meer verbracht haben. Sei fasziniert, wenn die Stars der Show aus der Brandung auftauchen und auf ihrer Reise zurück in ihre Höhlen direkt vor deinen Augen vorbeiziehen.

Ein Abendessen (auf eigene Kosten) kann je nach Jahreszeit vor oder nach der Pinguinparade eingenommen werden.

Die Rückfahrt nach Melbourne erfolgt auf direktem Weg über den Monash Freeway. Am Abend erreichst du die Southern Cross Station und eine begrenzte Anzahl von Ausstiegsstellen im Stadtzentrum (Flinders St Station und Queen & Lonsdale st).

The trip was overall horrible. The bus is extremely small with little to no leg room. Other guests on the tour were rude to me. We then made it to the penguin parade and things got considerably worse. Staff at the cafe are rude and food is poorly cooked. Penguins are almost impossible to see over the sea of people standing up and taking photos despite being told up to 10 times not to do so. People digging their knees into your back or spreading their legs as much as possible. I do not understand how in good conscience the people running the park can continue to allow visitors when people are constantly doing things at the detriment of the animals. The price of the trip was $260 for two people and I feel as though the only redeemable quality was the tour guide. I’ll be chasing up a refund

The bus ride, on the day I went they stopped at a Koala sanctuary and only a selected few that the bus driver had selected could get off and go in the rest. We’re not given the opportunity to purchase tickets to go in. Very disappointing and we had to sit and wait.

This was a very disappointing trip, although it was just a simple afternoon trip to Philips island. it all sucks. The agency combined people with different destinations into a single group. We wastes time to wait and took a detour to drop off the people in the other group to another place that had nothing to do with us, just wasted our time to wait at the couch. After that, we spent too much time on the small town Cowes so that we arrived late at the Philips island and no time to have dinner. We almost the last group of tourists arrived (after 7pm) at the Philips island as there were already tons of people lining up the queue for food. The most ridiculous thing was that my tour guide even forgot some of us upgraded to penguin plus. He did not have correct no. of the penguin plus ticket. We stood 15 mins right there to wait. My tour guide forgot the pw of WiFi in the coach, did not give the bottled water to each of us, even forgot the tallest building in Melbourne. What a trip.

Extraordinary place. Shame about all the humans, don’t know how the staff cope…..it was absolute carnage. All in agreement that this place should be closed to the public and kept solely as a conservation effort with funding found elsewhere 🙏🐧

Amazing day! So happy to see the penguins, and the wallabys and echidnas on the way. Justin was an awesome tour guide/driver. He had all the knowledge and more, keeping us informed and entertained with his wit every step of the way, despite some challenging guests on board. I hope everyone gets Justin for their guide 😁

We saw lots of wildlives, not only penguins! Penguins were so adorable and we were able to have a very close look at them. The guide made the experience better too, he was funny, and took us to more stops than I expected.
