„Overall a good stay. Very homey feel. Good location not too far from town. We stayed during a very windy few days and it was drafty inside but still warm. So although I imagine that is not the norm, it would be something to consider if travelling with a baby during the winter months. Unit is attached to a garage that’s used by owner so the space is not 100% private if that’s a consideration for future guests. Winston and Susie are very nice people and have a well stocked unit.“

„We wish we could live at Rita’s retreat all the time! Our room was nice and cozy. The backyard is so spacious and peaceful all the way down to the water. The indoor saltwater pool was icing on the cake! Mike was very accommodating, helpful and fun to talk to— I recommend Rita’s Retreat!“

„Christine and Karen were both welcoming and easy to communicate with in the lead-up to our stay. They sent us a message the day before letting us know that the apartment would be open and available on our arrival as well as their phone numbers to contact for any issues. The site was as depicted in the listing, and very comfortable for two. There is no television, which was perfect for us but may be something to be aware of for others. „The place is good, and we had a good time in the area. The place is not right on the beach--it is about a 200 meter walk through the woods. The house is pretty remote, which can be a good thing, but every place we wanted to visit is at least an hour drive away. We did a lot of driving and spent a lot on gas. We wish we had stayed in Baddeck.“

„Central location odor Cape Breton and the central/coastal areas. Stunning place right on the lake. Sunrises and moonshine on the lake. Hosts are wonderful. Planning our next trip.“

„The 2 bedroom, 3 bed house was great. It was clean, well stocked and located right off the beach. It is quiet with a great view. Highly recommend staying here if you don't mind the drive to get places. Cape Breton in the fall is absolutely beautiful! A must see!“

„This house was centrally located to everything we wanted to do while in this area of Cape Breton. It was quiet and comfortable and we appreciated being able to do laundry. I would recommend it to other travelers.“

„The house was quite nice overall. A little disappointing that the woodstove didn't work, especially as the weather was cool and wet. The water is quite soft, but tastes good; and the water heater works fine. We spent a chilly first night as the baseboard heaters were set to 10C (50F), and the control buttons are really tiny and hard to notice. A heads up from the owner would have been helpful. It was plenty warm once I found the controls. The setting is beautiful, and the stairs down to the lake ...

„We checked in Friday afternoon went out Saturday morning got back Saturday night to find out there was no water the pump went in the well I called the owner Sunday morning and told him about it he apologized many times he also refunded half my money back within a few minutes the care taker had a couple of big jugs of water for me so I was able to stay until Monday morning it’s a nice place and if i had to rate the owner I would give him a 10 out of 10“
