„Not exactly a river front home unless you’re able to hike to the river. Thankfully, we are hikers. No tv in the bedroom cost me hrs of sleep (I do realize not everyone sleeps with a tv on but I do). Otherwise it was peaceful and relaxing with many waterfalls to hike in the area.“

„Property is new construction the last few years. Elegantly designed. Sits perfectly on the property with perfect views off the brow. Plenty of seating options on the deck to enjoy the view. You can literally see for 40 miles. Did not want to leave. WE WILL BE BACK. “

„We came up to GA from FL for our anniversary and brought our two youngest (10 & 11) we had an AMAZING time at this cabin. As you can tell there is two twin beds & a full in the next room. We purchased an air mattress just because we like to watch TV when we go to bed and the only TV is downstairs in the living room. „Would not ever stay again “

„We stayed for a 3 day weekend. View was spectacular. Right on top of the mountain. Location was perfect to downtown Mentone shops and restaurants. Close to Desoto State park and Little River Canyon. Both of which we spent time hiking. Even drove to nearby Fort Payne for the day. “

„This is the cleanest place that we have ever stayed. Whenever we visit, I find it difficult to leave. It has become a tradition for my husband and I to visit Mentone and stay at Balpha's. He is a wonderful host.“

„We had an absolutely wonderful time just getting away from everything. Cabin is cozy, clean, well stocked and close to Mentone. Careful with the directions. The 4-5 miles part is actually just over one mile. If you aren’t watching you will miss it. “

„This is a beautiful , secluded cabin in the woods. We felt like we were alone in the forest- no neighbors in sight till you walk down to the road. The front porch is unique- mountain theme and the supports are real trees. The backyard has a nice fire ring and nothing but trees in sight. The inside has a country- chic/ retro decor with a large stone fireplace. The kitchen is well- equipped for cooking. The location is near state parks and trails We enjoyed leaf peeping along the Little River ...

I would suggest updating the pots and pans that previous guests have ruined with metal utensils, and some WD40 on the patio doors, but there is nothing that would discourage me from returning! Some areas of the property needed a little more attention, such as the yard (several large piles of pet waste), kitchen (the refrigerator and some dishes in the cabinet were dirty), and bathroom (the shower curtain needed replacing due to mildew). „This cabin is beautiful and well equipped with everything needed for a more than comfortable stay. Communication with the owner was excellent! We hiked to the bottom of Desoto falls and enjoyed dinner at the Wildflower Cafe on Saturday evening (with reservations). The market was great for lunch and we picked up grab and go salads for later. The evenings were cool so the outdoor fire and the hot tub were a welcoming treat! I look forward to a repeat of the weekend soon and I wouldn’t change ...

„Property was clean and well stocked with extras. Plenty of extra towels, sheets, pillows, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. The only thing missing was something to use as a chip clip for open bags of snacks but there was a roll of tape in the drawer so all needs were met! The location is perfect. The Citadel boulders were a great surprise. We enjoyed exploring. We would choose this property again.“
