„We had a wonderful time there and even extended our stay one day in order to catch the latest volcano eruption in the national park. This was the perfect location for exploring the east side of Hawaii island. The beds were comfortable and the lanai was huge.“

„We started out by staying on the Kona side. We also knew that to go to the National Park would require more time, so we booked one night with you. It truly was not enough time. Your online listing does not do you justice. All 5 of us wanted more time in the Jungalow! Everything was perfect! Cozy, charming, peaceful and everything we needed to unwind. We will plan accordingly the next time we come. Thank you.“

„We loved our time here! The property is just like the photos and it's so close to Volcanoes National Park. There was an eruption the day we arrived and we were able to get to it in 10 minutes. It's also just beautiful to be surrounded nature. A comment: there weren't any blinds/curtains, so be aware when the sun comes through in the morning.“

„This was a wonderful home base for our family’s explorations of the volcano. We enjoyed it so much we actually wished we had booked another night! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the Volcano area“

„We were using this place as a base, from which we explored the eastern half of Big Island. For us as a family of 4, it was a great place, which provided an individual room for both of our kids. We also really enjoyed the provided snorkelling gear and beach equipment. Communication with the hosts was very good. Our only minor point of concern during our stay was that the washing machine had broken down prior to our arrival and wasn't available to us, but we managed without.“

„We loved the house inside and out. Perfect for our family. Kids loved exploring the backyard and hearing the frogs at night and birds during the day. Close to the entrance to the park. We would definitely stay again.“

„Gisella’s place was one of the most authentic and unique experiences during out trip to Hawaii. You must be ready to share the house with some smaller animals here and there, but that’s the part of the experience. Gisella was very kind and told us about the history of the house. Definitely recommend!“

„Die Lage des Hauses ist toll, wenn man Meeresrauschen zum Einschlafen mag. Wir haben sogar eine Schildkröte vom Haus aus gesehen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter hat sehr gut geklappt.“

„This house was a wonderful place to stay. There was no air-conditioning in this place but it was not needed. The wind coming off the sea was sufficient to cool the house and sometimes at night it was cold. The sounds of the waves crashing against the cliffs was the best "white noise" to fall asleep or read your favorite book. The place is stocked with the tools you need to cook with. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. The place is conveniently located close to the Volcano National Park so ...

„The Thomas Guard house is a gem in Hilo. The location is perfect - not in the middle of the city but close enough to walk to local restaurants. The beautiful grounds, the waterfall, the river running through the backyard, they all added to the charm. The house is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Charlotte has thought of all the details to make this a wonderful place to stay. It was a perfect way to unwind from an otherwise busy life. “

„Absolutely loved this place, this was our second year staying there and it's such a relaxing place to be. Hilo is truly amazing and beautiful and this place lets you soak it all in. Smart home is awesome the hot tub the outdoor showers the backyard the lighting is relaxing. The managers and the owners are great!“

„We entered the place with both grandparents and kids, 8 people in total. The 4 nights were absolutely too short to enjoy everything but the time we had was great. The house itself is very comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean. The view is amazing! Hilo as city is fantastic and the volcano park is a must to go. We did barbecue and enjoyed the house. Thanks to the parents of Robin for your hospitality and the nice coffee and cookies. Mahalo!“

„Ein wunderbares Haus auf mit einem prächtigen Garten in einer paradiesischen Umgebung am Meer ! Die Fotos im Inserat sind absolut authentisch. Das Haus ist komfortabel ausgestattet. Im Garten konnten wir uns tatsächlich an den Früchten bedienen. Besonders gefallen hatte uns die große Terrasse mit dem Rundblick in den Garten. Komplett geschützt durch die Fliegengitter. Patti hatte uns mit einem großzügigen Obstteller empfangen. Die Kommunikation mit ihr war sehr gut. Sie wäre für uns immer ...

„Comfortable and peaceful. The home is a bit remote with 1 neighbor. Beautiful view and when opened up, the trades blew through cool wind. Quiet. “

„Beautiful respite in the rainforest just a few minutes away from Volcanoes National Park. We loved the huge green tree ferns and the flowers surrounding the property, giving it a private fantasy feeling, just like the pictures on the website. We loved the jacuzzi amongst the moss and ferns. We enjoyed the sounds of the many frogs and birds.“

„There property clearly is well built with plenty attention the fine details. The yard has a pool and jacuzzi, perfect to keep the kids engaged in outdoor activities. Chase was very easy to work with messages promptly answered. Would recommend property to any traveler or resident alike.“

"Man bucht diese Unterkunft, weil sie im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften schlicht am billigsten ist. Alles ist krumm und schief, ein Fenster war zum Teil zerbrochen bei uns. Die Fliegengitter haben wir mit etwas Papier gestopft, damit sicher keine Mücken reinkommen. Aber das Zimmer war sauber und wir konnten uns gut duschen und das kleine Bad benutzen. Die Rohre sind von außen rostig und das Zimmer lag an der Straße, was kann man gehört hat, das Frühstück war eher schlecht. Aber es gab Kaffee und wir hatten eigenen Toast dabei... das WLAN funktioniert nur in der Lobby. Wir waren nur eine Nacht da und das war okay. Für zwei Nächte oder mehr würde ich das Hotel wohl nicht empfehlen."

"On the first look the room was clean and it looked quite nice but the floor was not really clean and the blanket I had to sleep on had a few stains on it. Also my neighbours threw a big party in the next room and were really loud with a lots of people and they also stole a car. And if theres no party you hear everything your neighbours do and I mean „everything“. The wifi in my room was also non existent. But on the good side the room had some free snacks and it‘s located in a Beautiful spots and the most people living there are nice. Apart from the stains on the blanket and the crumps on the floor the room was clean and I‘m sure it was just bad timing that the party was during my stay. For eating there you have to buy yourself something or order delivery which is ultra expensive there. "
