The best bit about Beacon farm is the freshly made ice cream, you can enjoy it here in the café. There is a large selection of pubs offering live music, good food or a quiet drink, quaint antique and gift shops, and famous fish and chip shops nestled amongst the cobbled back streets and main shopping areas. The local tour bus is an excellent way of visiting some of Whitby’s highlights, including the stunning abbey and St Mary’s Church, positioned on the cliff top where you can enjoy spectacular views over Whitby and out to sea.
There are many pretty resorts dotted along the coast, including Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay, which are great for exploring our maritime history, including Captain James Cook, smugglers and pirates. There are water sports, surf schools and even whale watching trips to be found along the coast.
