My mom and I really enjoyed this property. We were welcomed by a full width, beautiful front porch furnished with plenty of seating. Check in was easy, all information was clear and understandable.
I'm going to interrupt myself here and mention how well the owners have remodeled this beautiful farmhouse. Sure, if you're a stickler for period detail this isn't your place. But if you are looking for a comfortable, welcoming retreat close to tons of activities book this now.
There was plenty of storage, the kitchen was well equipped, the bed was firm but not hard. All three bathrooms were lovely. The walk-in shower was a plus for my mom. The property has a huge backyard overlooking Farm fields. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful. I saw a deer, herons, and other wildlife. My mom really enjoyed being able to control the heat in her room at the back of the house off the kitchen.
We are already looking for reasons to book this next year. It truly is a lovely place. It's truly a year-round property. I can picture sitting on that shady front porch in the summer enjoying my morning coffee. In the spring, it would be fun to start a fire in the fire pit. The scenery in the fall would be amazing as this property is tucked into a hillside setting surrounded by trees. And in the winter, sitting in front of that roasty toasty fireplace would be so snuggly!
The property is ideally located between Baraboo and Prairie du Sac. It's close to Devil's Lake, the Merrimac ferry, and Wollersheim.
