„The experience of staying at Kalani Oceanside Retreat was very relaxing and beautiful. We enjoyed the yoga class we signed up for very much. The people we encountered, both guests and staff, were great to talk with. The cottage we stayed at had lots of room and we had a fabulous view of the ocean and grounds around us.“

„We felt at home right away in this cozy, tastefully furnished and quiet log cabin. We really enjoyed the hot tub, the fire place and the birds singing in the forest. The location is perfect for visiting the volcano park even at night. Knowing about the cameras beforehand was very helpful.“

„It was perfect for our state. Very clean kind of treehouse vibes in the middle of the fern forest the price was extremely reasonable. Location is very secluded in the middle of the forest gravel road going in very dark if you come in late but very safe location we stayed in number five had a perfect shower table microwave small fridge upstairs had a bed and a restroom, I would recommend If you like to save the environment and stay away from lots of touristy types of properties. „Wir haben nachts sehr gefroren, die kleinen Elektroheizstrahler sind zu wenig. Wir waren im März dort, ist zu dieser Jahreszeit eigentlich nicht bewohnbar. Wir haben mit Schal. Pullover, Hose etc. geschlafen. Code zum Öffnen der Tür am Anreisetag war nicht klar verständlich.“

„Our stay was short. 1 night. Spur of the moment trip from Waimea to Volcano! Super easy. Quick response and communication from host. The cabin is amazing. Rustic, cozy, spacious, and had every thing we needed except foil haha. We had so much fun and will definitely be back!“

„This tiny home was a perfect spot for our father/son excursion to the Big Island. It had a fully equipped kitchen which was great for preparing meals. Everything appeared to be brand new and it was immaculate. It is secluded and private and had a great screened in area with fire pit. Communication was perfect, and was needed to find the location. I'd stay here again for sure. It was a great value and very comfortable! “

„Staying on the papaya farm was a rustic refreshing change. Sleeping to the sounds of tree frogs and birds was lovely. Our hosts were great. The only issue we had was this property is listed as handicap accessible. I hope the host removes this before someone who is really handicapped rents it. There were rocky steep steps going into the cabin (the host gave us a sheet of plywood to lay down, but it was too steep for the wheelchair). There was also gravel going from the bedroom to the kitchen ...

„We had a great stay! The host does a great job providing everything you need for a very unique experience staying near Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The surrounding area is dark with some rough roads, but it is worth it given this excellent stay. “

„It’s in an unpaved road it looks really runs down like they made huts/rooms on a piece of land the pools looks unsanitary when I first looked at the picture for an entire unit it looked like I was getting everything in one house all connected but it’s not this place is like a community use and very private at all“

„We loved the modern cabin and its amenities. Convenient location only 3 miles from Volcano National Park. Not as secluded as you might think - which could be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for… Neighbors were noisy at times and you can hear highway traffic. But you also hear frogs and birds! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend and would book again! “

„This property is an unusual little gem tucked away in the rainforest. The host has created nicely appointed, comfortable guest cabins. The cabins, the shared kitchen/dining building and the grounds are well maintained and artistically decorated. The host clearly cares deeply about what she is creating for her guests.The price was quite reasonable. "On the first look the room was clean and it looked quite nice but the floor was not really clean and the blanket I had to sleep on had a few stains on it. Also my neighbours threw a big party in the next room and were really loud with a lots of people and they also stole a car. And if theres no party you hear everything your neighbours do and I mean „everything“. The wifi in my room was also non existent. But on the good side the room had some free snacks and it‘s located in a Beautiful spots and the most people living there are nice. Apart from the stains on the blanket and the crumps on the floor the room was clean and I‘m sure it was just bad timing that the party was during my stay. For eating there you have to buy yourself something or order delivery which is ultra expensive there. "

"Die Unterkunft ist wie man sich ein typisch hawaiianisches Hotel vorstellt. Etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber sehr sauber. So wie wir gesehen haben, renovieren sie laufend Zimmer. Sehr schöner wilder Garten, in welchem man sich gerne aufhält. Sehr freundliches Personal. Einfaches Frühstück. Obwohl es ein Nichtraucherhotel ist, hat es ein Plätzchen im Garten wo geraucht werden darf. "
